I sometimes use nonfree software. I once was a harsh critic of free software - and I even used the so-called "logic" of sunk-cost to justify my use of nonfree software over free software, even when the free software was better.

Because of the above, I used Windows as my daily driver, until it puked and fucked up the disk (really, FAT32 is an abomination) and in a fit of pique, I bought Caldera Linux at CompUSA. In February 1998.
I have occasionally looked back and wondered what I missed out, and at work and on other people's machines, I see reasons to stay the fuck away from Windows for my own stuff.
I occasionally use nonfree stuff when there is no alternative, but given an alternative that is "almost as good" and is FOSS, I'll go with the FOSS.
