No

I don't like the Function key at all and Apple (and some other companies) thought it was funny to put the Fn key where the control button should, to the VERY left of the keyboard. I would have been fine if it were [Ctrl] [Fn] [Option] [Command] but nope.

I could forgive how right click is handled but I will get autistic if keyboard layout isn't something I'm used to and something I personally can easily transition to and from a desktop keyboard.

If it wasn't just for that I'd like to consider getting the Macbook Air or Macbook Pro. Hell no to the 1 port shitty travel keyboard that is the new Macbook
>>
>>54629514
The uses for Control are very limited in OS X so it doesn't really matter.
>>
>>54629562
I'm not very fond of Mac OS X either because of how Command is Control in terms of shortcuts (such as copy/cut/paste) it's just something I'm not used to. At least Apple gives you the option to dual boot.

I was a long-time Windows user before I got a MacBook as a secondary computer and still used Windows as my main operating system for about three years after that. I don't know if it's just that I've gotten so used to it or what, but I consider Command+something to be more ergonomic than Control+something.

Eh, I mean I can afford it. I just like Gentoo more and I don't have to pay for an Apple logo. Mac is like this typical hipster stereotype to me. Plus you don't know when Steve Jobs is going to rise from the dead and eat the rest of that apple.

Yeah, but I'd also just as happily use any other expensive laptop, like the chromebook pixel or x1 carbon

i bought a totally-not-stolen one from a friend in 2010, used it for a couple years then sold it for twice the price i bought it for

I got the newest (as of a year ago) Macbook for free for my job.. I just leave it open for web browsing on the couch. It is literally the opposite of intuitive, plus, any sustained intensive use and it shits out in a few hours.

If it were to break tonight I'd probably just replace it with a 80$ tablet with just as much functionality

no. Already went with a server and thin clients/laptops. Let the server handle all the work and logins, all files stay safe and secure with backups and shit, and its mostly platform agnostic. With GPU passthrough as well supported in server2012r2 and hyperv in a win8.1vm, it means you can just stream the desktop to whatever device you want, and let the server do all the heavy work.

Why would you want it? OSX is meh its like mobile OS cant do a shit with it if you want it you can always hackintosh, hardware is overpriced. I would use a Macbook over my current laptop, which is a random Acer that has decent specs. But no, if I were to actually buy a laptop that's over 1k, it would be something else.
I'd also dual boot linux with it, I like OS X more than Windows, but I still like linux more.

It has middle class level pricing at best.

Now, that the price of the shit ain't up to the lower build quality, is quite another discussion.

I've got the 2014 Air which is basically identical and while the new MacBook looks okay, it's way too fucking expensive for what it is and I don't think I could live with a single port. Price isn't high compared to other new laptops. The hardware is just older and most restricked because apple like to make sure nothing will break instead of letting us the freedom to choose any kind of hardware. 1-2 years old macbook are ~ as good as new ones and a lot cheaper. That's what I got recently because I was tired of always having the fucking urge to rice my linux machine and microsoft pissed me off recently so fk em
