My Venue 8 Pro has a Atom Z3740D and it's fine for light computing, Edge is quite fast, and Firefox works fine provided you don't have a million tabs open. Office is fast, Gimp is usable but a little slow.
I'd imagine the z8300 is more than capable of handing day to day tasks.
