That's why you "build it" yourself.

No, they don't. Your local Walmart is not "all the vendors".

Just buy the components and assemble it itself, it is only bigger lego.

Nice. Just get a laptop and install your own OS like a normal person. If you use the "bundled" OS you're literally fucking retarded.

I tried it once and something got fried when I turned it on. Had to send the whole thing back to let them figure out which part was broken. Havn't tried since. It's not that easy and actually pretty fiddly and a pain in the ass.

The fuck? I build my first PC when I was 14yo, you just read carefully the manuals and you're fine.

Yeah, except if you push down too hard you've snapped a $500 video card, or bent a pin on your CPU instead of just a plastic block, and if you've miswired anything you'll fry your machine when you try to turn it on. Totally the same otherwise.

ITT children who have never filed taxes. Setting off individual components against tax liability is much more work. If you factor in your hourly wage, assembling (NOT BUILDING) your own computer is more expensive with zero net gain.

That's bullshit. You can demand on removing pre-installed operating system from any computer you buy and the store is obliged to subtract operating system cost from the end-product. If the store refuses to do so for any reason - just sue those fuckers and send a complaint to appropriate government consumer-protection department and inform you local representative of anti-monopoly committee.

CPUs don't even have pins anymore. They literally made that shit babbymode just for you.
Pushing down too hard? Are you the fucking Hulk?
You really need to make an actual effort to destroy hardware nowadays. Everything has a small quickstart manual as well.
Pop the cpu in the socket, put the cooler on top, put the motherboard into your case, screw that shit tight, put in your cards, ram, cables, done. Gee, that was hard.

you must fuck up really, really bad, to the point that you would probably fuck up a prebuilt system as well. I'm talking smearing-mayo-al- over-the-mobo-fucking up. Oh wait, even that wouldn't kill your system.
I'm talking throwing-your-mobo-into-the-pool-and-shitting-into-your-psu-fucking up.

>>
>>54616318
>Why are you trying to convince me it's a walk in the park when I've done it before and I know for a fact it can easily ruin the whole machine if you do something wrong
Because you're dumb. Every one of us has built one easily. I've burned out components before but only because I was being dumb and didn't read instructions. Since I stopped being dumb I haven't damaged a thing. Don't be dumb and you'll be just fine. If you do something dumb then you'll probably fuck it up. If you think that you can't stop being dumb for an hour then you probably shouldn't have a computer in the first place.

>>54616364
This, I destroyed 3 gpus and one mobo over the years simply from fucking around with them. If you just build it correctly and not fuck around with it like I did, there should be no problems. I've built about 10-15 pcs over the past 3 years and never had any complaints or problems. I've even walked people through building one on their own over the phone. That's sorta like building one blind. Even my younger sister ended up building one. She got tired of her shit laptop and I just told her to build one. Gave her the parts list and linked a 15 minute build video along with a 2 hour one. Now it took her practically the whole day but she ended up doing it. Only helped her install Windows at the end of the day.
Point is, yes you can break shit but only if you're not paying attention to what you're doing or tinkering around with shit. Some people get too eager and end up fucking something up, just don't be one of those people. Do what you gotta do at your own pace. Once it posts, put the side panels on and leave it alone..

Yeah, some fucky shit is happening. I bought a 200 dollar computer that came with Windows 8.1 because I'm poor. I hated it.
>install Windows 10
>it keeps trying to shove OneDrive up my dick
>deletes my win 8 stuff so I can't go back
>I go into settings and reboot into the firmware settings
>not that tech savvy but I have a 32GB Lubuntu 14.04 live USB in my desk drawer
>go to boot override and see drive
>try it and nothing happens
>violently slam the enter key
>screen just flashing grey once and nothing fucking going

I'm not a complete idiot but I have no idea what I've done wrong. I'm pretty sure this new UEFI shit is there specifically to force me into using winblows. I'm buying a used Mac next time.

>inb4 secure boot off
>inb4 boot password enabled
>inb4 USB is recognized in both computers and bootable on old laptop
>inb4 no legacy settings as described by everyone else who thinks I'm "doing it wrong"

I'm so fucking mad. I hope everyone working for Microsoft and Asus dies in a fire.
>>
>>54616262
thats not always true, but in most cases, people who like technology want to understand how computers works, their physical components and softwares, so consequently, most 'tech guys' do know how to build a PC
>>
>>54617312
I don't think you understand how inb4 works.
Anyway, maybe the Lubuntu drive only boots in BIOS and you're using UEFI? Or was that what you meant by "no legacy settings"? Try making a new boot drive.
