If you ever have a new idea for an invention, lets say a world changing one, and you decide to check online to see if one already exists. Microsoft will see your searches, and they have the patent office on speed dial and patent lawyers that are payed more per year than you are likely to make in a lifetime. Im not saying they would steal any ideas, but they have the ability to. However unlikely that is to happen, its a reason that collecting data is still bad for the consumer even if the consumers arent doing anything illegal.
