Does having more fans constantly running at a higher speed reduce the rate at which dust builds up in your computer because a faster air current would give dust less opportunity to settle, or increase the rate at which dust builds up in your computer because you're moving more air through your machine so most dust in total is brought in?

With dual channel memory you have 4 RAM slots available. If you populate two of them with 2x8GB DIMMs, your system has 16GB of RAM and 64 bit applications can access all 16GB of RAM.
>If you populate all 4 DIMMs with RAM you have 4x8GB for 32GB of RAM, but because you are using all 4 DIMMs, your system can only access 16GB per application.

I've never heard of any such limitation in 64 bit systems and applications, and I'm looking for a source that explains it in more detail.

Just moved into a new unit, and where the phone jack should be in the kitchen, I have this over the top.

I called Telstra, they told me that they could see the line through the data base, but internode said there was an error, and to check the line for a dial tone.

What is the right way to go about this?
Call Telstra to reconnect the line, and then get straight on to internode to bundle the phoneline with broadband?

Is it a good price? Did I do good for my first graphics card purchase? Pic related, max settings don't really matter to me.

If it somehow manages to cool the GPU below ambient temperature, it could collect condensation and that would be dangerous. But I highly highly doubt that would ever be the case. I think you should be good as long as you replace the dust filters on the AC vent when you should so that the AC isn't constantly blowing dust into your GPU.

Not sure what the rest of your build is but the GTX 950 is a GTX 750Ti upgraded, either the 75W PCIe only for $160 or the normal 90W for $135.
30% more powerful than the GTX 750Ti.

The 750Ti was a good card, but got replaced already, its 2 gens old already.

If you are going to use it on a 720p monitor it will be great.

I actually haven't bought it yet, but I want a low profile card since my case is really tiny. My build just had an old intel g4 integrated graphics card with 4gb of RAM and a Pentium Dual Core 2.60ghz CPU. It can't even play Team fortress 2 at a decent speed.

I don't really want to spend more than $130. So this card would be good, I've read it could play some newer games at decent 720p settings.

I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a controller issue I'm having please. I'm trying to use a DS4 controller, and DS4Windows picks up all the stick/button/rumble/light etc inputs in the "Controller Readings" tab, but I'm completely unable to map buttons on the screen in my picture. Nothing is being picked up at all.

I was previously using DS4Windows with no problems until I had to reinstall Windows 10 (64). I definitely meet all the program's requirements and I've tried reinstalling drivers, running as admin, and switching between usb 2 and 3. Nothing seems to help. I can use an Xbox One controller with the same usb slot no problem. I've tried to use InputMapper and I had pretty much the same problem. Any ideas please?

I got a fan splitter like this for my computer. The fans I have all use a 3 pin connector so from what I understand, the fan speed is not controlled by the fan itself like with fans that have a 4 pin connector, but by the amount of electricity the motherboard gives it. So does this mean the two fans I have connected to it would be running at half speed because the electricity from one connection is being divided by two fans? When I go to the bios to adjust the fan settings, it seems like they run at full speed when I set it to full speed. I don't get how that's possible though. Am I missing something or do I have this totally wrong or what?

What do you mean same IP? Like you're using a 3G hotspot with multiple devices? Then yeah they can't tell what traffic came through what device, only the hotspot you used.

If you're talking about your 3G device sharing IP with other 3G devices on the same carrier, it wouldn't really affect whether the carrier can track you since they track your data to you as a user, not based on some shared IP address scheme they might use. I mean otherwise how would they know how much you're using if you are on a metered plan for example?

Highly doubt, considering the "code" hype that Google and Facebook are encouraging. That starving people in various countries of Africa will be taught to code. Right now the top salaries in Apple are for Design.

Lowly scums are the designers at Google/FB. They are amateurs who worked on Material Design. Considering Google is an Indian Company, design and aesthetics doesn't matter.

UX and UI design is meme and irrelevant.

The whole idea is not to label yourself but simply be Creative.

However the Real creative fields, there are Industrial Designers, Art Directors, Creative Directors, Copywriters.
Industries are various. Art Director, Copywriters get paid massive in Advertising industry as it revolves around them. However the job involves you cracking requirements from your clients and providing solutions. So it's not an easy job and your brain has to be active 24/7.
Look up Droga5, the guy became rich at the age 22.

Industrial Designers? Well Jony Ive drives around in a Bentley and the thought of him retiring is scaring Apple Investors. Heck he resurrected a dead company on the basis of design.
Scott Croyle - Made HTC relevant despite crap sales.
Dieter Rams- Legend Status.

Magazines and Photography. You can work on your own time.

Graphic Designer- There are copy paste hacks who exist,But a true graphic designer is very rare these days. Those who are extremely good run their own setup or work for Design Cells. These guys know branding and identity creation.

The difference between Coding and Creative fields is that Creative Fields require talent and quick thinking.

Left brain vs Right Brain.

>Design? Thought designers were seen as lowly scum compared to coders.
Not in Publishing, Fashion, Jewelry, Automobile, Retail & Branding, Sony, Apple and Advertising Agencies.

In tech companies like Facebook, Twitter and Google. Yes, however their products aren't very hot in today's world. And design revolves around actual talent mixed with ideation, so you can't really teach African kids that, unlike coding.

Talented designers have called Google's material design a joke.
>>
>>54613984
Honestly every time I see material design on anything it seems like a quick way out of it. I never really liked it. I see that it must be hard to come up with anything actually creative enough that also makes it to the public eye, but this seems like an extreme amount of laziness.

I was asking because, of course I am no designer at all but I always understood that people hated graphic designers and it never seemed like a real "job" for some. Me personally, I think that amount of creativity few have is still needed and I would never pick at someone for choosing that path.

I know of a guy that gives lessons on graphic design, he's always claiming that 98% of every design out there is just taken from something else and there's really almost nothing "new". This seems related. As I understand the popularity of flat colors and material design comes from pure convenience, more people using it just because the other stuff really takes some effort. Many people don't seem to give three fucks about it either.

And how does one exactly "get into" graphic design specifically? This to me seems like some sort of thing you have to take as a hobby real hard before moving into any professional field.

I'm getting extremely long boot times unless I take out my laptop's battery.

I mean, like 5 minutes in the black screen before getting to GRUB, and left it for over an hour waiting for the OS to load and ended up giving up.

Same for BIOS, if I press the BIOS hotkey, the menu appears 5 minutes later.

Now, if I remove the battery for a couple minutes and try again, it boots right away and with no apparent issues. Yet, if I shut it down and try a couple hours later, I'm getting the long boot again. Reboots seem to work fine as far as I know.

What's going on, is my mobo dying?

Are large external storage drives (like 3-5TB) risky to use, i.e. are they more susceptible to failure than an internal HDD?
>>
>>54614957
Well, they have an extra point of failure in that the enclosure's electronics can die, but if that happens it's relatively trivial to simply rip the drive out of it and resume using it as an internal drive or stick it into a different enclosure. As far as actual data loss risk I don't see why it would be any different from the same drive used internally, as long as it's not built so shittily that the thing gets really really hot or something, but I don't think you would usually have to worry about that.

Tell me why you feel Android is better than iOS. I've used both types of devices before, but I like how iOS gets OS updates instantly, developers tend to develop for iOS first, and when you jailbreak your device it's fully customizable. >>
>>54616581
>Check if it's seated correctly. Also if possible check if it's recognised in the device manager.

I've taken it off and reinstalled it multiple times already on two different mobos and PSUs on this build. I have to plug the monitor to the mobo's vga output to get an image. The GPU's fans turn on but it does not show up on device manager.

I simply cannot think of any logical explanation for this to happen because the GPU works fine on another computer I've tested.
>>
>>54616556
you wanna back that claim up with some facts?
my rebuttal claim with no facts:
some of the 390 cards -read saphire nitro and msi gaming- can hit 1200 on the core, and 1200 on the core is a big boost for amd, even though 1200 for something like a 970 is a trash speed
beyond that, the 390 is competitive with the 970 in non-gimped games, and getting better with drivers, I dont trust the nvidia cards to do the same
further, sli/cfx support is garbage sometimes, other times it's fantastic, it's really hit or miss
source: I have crossfired 290x
I would go 390 if you HAVE to get a new card now, otherwise get a used 290/290x or a stopgap card and save for either polaris or a 1070, even if you go 1070 I would wait until polaris is out, they release june first, seriously just wait the 2 weeks

>>54616598
nope not every game, tried drivers, 3 different ones now, also just reinstalled windows
I thought it might have to do with vsr, but that's been disabled for a long time now
everytime I tried drivers too I would uninstall via amd, then ddu, then reinstall, then restart and try
removing my OC solved everything, but I need that performance, my 8350 is old as is, and struggles even OC'd to feed my 295x2
>time for intel/zen is approaching quickly
>>
>>54616617
>the 390 is competitive with the 970 in non-gimped games

Aka the minority of games while being beaten in everything else. AMD gets better performance in like, Far Cry, and then it gets stomped easily at everything else. The stock 970 clock is something like 1000 mhz, whereas when overclocked it can easily go beyond 1500 mhz and reach stock 980 perf. The 390 will not compete with a stock 980 at fucking all.

>I would go 390 if you HAVE to get a new card now

The obvious advice would be to get the 1070 in a couple weeks.

Not very tech related but not sure where to ask. After reading a book or scroll in thw witcher is it necessary to keep it?

voltage for gpu or cpu?
I just got one of the games (sleeping dogs) to launch by going in and deleting the ini for video settings and resetting them, played fine for a minute then it froze up visually, then audio crashed. everything still worked in background, when i went to terminate in task manager whole computer locked up and I had to do a hard reboot
the other game I tried (witcher 3) worked flawlessly (albeit lower performance than with the OC) for over 20 min
it's fine in heaven and valley, and other synthetics, although I haven't tried furmark yet, it's downloading now

How can I prevent .exe execution? Anyway yeah, have 2 illiterates on the network, will probably just limit their writing capability on the network.

>There should an export or compile or something button in your IDE.
Not my point. I have my compiled program, so how do I send it to another PC and install it? My project uses JUCE, so do I need the recipient to install the entire JUCE API as well?

You create a GPO (Group Policy Object) for it. You'll find plenty on the internet regarding GPOs.

Also I read that cryptos only affect mounted shares with a drive letter. I personally have my network share under my favorites. It does not have a letter.

Sounds like GPU problems to me. How many screens do you have on that GPU? Friend of mine had issues like that with 3 screens. He still thinks something with the voltage on the GPU. It's pretty certain it's somewhere between the GPU and power.

Give it a try in a VM. I have no experience with JUCE.

How does one download from Github if a zip hasn't been prepared?

I'm running 3 screens currently, but I had the same issues with 2 not too long ago

I've heard rumors of movies getting leaked early and get complete rips on some sites, but I can't find anything on them. I am getting Zootopia however the best quality ones all have hardcode china subs. Why is this? Is this like a legit rip in china and uploaded to kick ass and the bay or what?

Dont do this. Just run it in virtual box. It runs fine and I did it for shiggles.

>>54609281
No. You can literally move to 7, 8 or 10 and it wont notice at all

Like you said, your parents think, do you? If not no. My parents think the same thing and I told them I find it boring. I wanna do music.

Are any of them high Hz monitors? If any of them are, try to only run 1 60 Hz monitor.

Wiggling it worked, thanks.

Other stupid question because the problem kept me from getting at the bios:

I got a new GPU a while back, and ever since then I've gotten a single beep code on startup that repeats 3 times before the computer boots as normal. To get around this I simply haven't been turning my computer off. It it a bios thing, and if so, how do I get to the menu if it just ignores me hitting F7 while its beeping?
