Whats the best software for formatting a hard drive.
Got a free hard drive from my cousin but has all these partitions i dont need. I just want a single goddamn volume but windows disk management is a piece of shit.

I have two partitions, one for storage and the other for os
I formatted one, deleted the other
I chose to extend volume, which should merge them.
Instead now one partition is unallocated space and wont let me turn it into a new volume, the other turned into "simple partition" with the same space it had

Get GParted.
Burn it on to a USB drive.
Boot using the USB drive.
Delete the hidden/unneeded partitions on your new drive.
