is 802.11ac a meme wireless standard since 802.11n is both good enough and inexpensive enough for most users?
Yes.
Yes it is.

AC has better range, penetrating power, and throughput speeds. If you need this that N doesn't offer you, then you go with AC.
The next wireless standard is likely to be a meme since we don't need one after that for probably a few more years at least.
802.11ac isn't expensive though, you can get a gigabit router for under $50, there's no excuse
maybe for web browsing it's fine but for data transfers or streaming, especially streaming games (to things like steam link or nvidia shield), there's definitely a huge difference. If you live alone and only web browse no reason to upgrade though.

>AC 5ghz

you know nothing about radio frequencies.

lower frequencies have better penetration but lower data rates.
higher frequencies have faster data rates but dont penetrate as good as lower frequencies.
>ac
>expensive
It's standard in new stuff.

It has more penetrating power then N on 5ghz you fucking nitwit. But keep on acting like you know something we don't.
no, it's for POWER USERS who need HIGH BANDWIDTH and not for normies who have older mobile devices
ac is pretty nice. Pic related.
My n clients on 5Ghz can do 150mbit max.
