Kubuntu, Ubuntu Mate, MATE or Xubuntu?
Definitely Xubuntu, light weight, no bloat and user friendly.
>>54601133
The only one you will ever need.

>>54601133
Mate is best IMO, Xubuntu looks cool too but I havent had time to fuck with it yet
Lubuntu.
Lubuntu or Xubuntu
>>54601166
Why are you recommending a Linux distribution that is 2 versions old now?
Anyway OP. MATE is the way to go. I have MATE 16.04 on my laptop and desktop and it works great.
>>54601206
>2 versions old
lol, it is a current stable LTS. Are you retarded?
>>54601245
Xubuntu is only up to 14.04?
Ubuntu Mate, Xubuntu, or Budgie Remix. I love budgie and I'd be on Solus if they had Optimus graphics support.
>>54601245
No it's not, you are retarded
Xub, personally.
It's pretty, usable, expandable, customisable, and light on resources.
>>54601133
Cinnamon

You having trouble there?
>>54601133
kubuntu if you like bloat
mate if you're stuck in the gnome2 era
xubuntu if you have a brain
>using ubuntu ever
Go get manjaro
>>54601133
Xubuntu if you can't into Cinnamon
>>54601331
I guess we're both slightly mistaken
For some reason the Xubuntu team doesn't brand 16.04 as stable yet, even though every other 16.04 release is
http://xubuntu.org/news/release/16-04/
Ubuntu 16.04 is very fast. I would suggest using Ubuntu now (instead of its derivatives) unless you have a strong opinion of Unity, which would be odd.
>>54601482
Well unity is more resource intensive, less customizable, more bloated, and less feature filled than literally every other DE, so in fact it'd be really weird to not have a disdain for it
>>54601133
kubuntu

How does Ubuntu (Unity) 16.04 compare to 14.04 in terms of performance?
I tried installing 16.04 but had to go for 14.04 due to problems during installation, and I have freezes when I try to copy something via USB 3.0 interface and do something else at the same time.
I need it to be Unity due to being the only one allowing me to do HDMI output out of the box as my display is broken and I can't see anything in the left side.
Tried LXDE and Xfce but neither duplicated the bar on the second screen.
I'm guessing MATE has the same issues, does it?
>>54601133
Arch with i3.
The correct answer is Arch
Xubuntu of course
What's with all the xubuntu fags?
Fedora, faggot.
Windows 10
Xubuntu.
>>54601870
It's really good?
Is ubuntu minimal the best choice for ubuntu if I use i3 as window manager?
>>54601870
Because its the most user friendly distro without bloatness.
Lubuntu is fine too, but I don't see the point. Most computers doesn't need any more lightness.
Standard Ubuntu, Unity 8 is super neat specially on ubuntu touch
>>54602535
I just installed minimal with openbox/tint2 on an older netbook that couldn't handle a full install and more resource-heavy window managers
