And if it is too expensive, then they want to send it one after another, so I can save toll.
>>
Ok initial impressions of the Chuwi HiBook

>it feels 'premium' with the metal chassis
>except the recessed screen (about 2mm) detracts from that
>Speaking of screen it's really nice, high resolution
>the type C socket is a bit dodgy with charging (you have to push the thing in hard to make contact)
>Android runs great but Windows chugs a bit
>I really need the real keyboard and mouse for Windows
>Android is in Chinese and full of Chinese bloatware by default
>the screen protector has a bubble :(
>battery life seems OK. Would get an external battery pack to supplement it

So some flaws... but great value considering the price
>>
>>54596817

etc.

>>
>>54597106

Nobody has been outright scammed, but they're a shit company. They frequently sell stuff that is out of stock, don't tell you its out, then ship a month later when it gets back in. "Processing" times of 2 weeks aren't uncommon. This was common knowledge before cakebux clouded our vision.

So what's the benefit of those cheap USB sound cards? Do they give you better audio quality?
>>
>>54597217
essentially more power
can drive larger things
removes hissing in mic recordings/certain earphones/headphones

theyre really only a solution to a problem you already have, there is no point buying one if its not fixing something you already know is an issue
>>
>>54597217
They just give you more power than you'd get with the single port acting as both audio and mic that laptops have. People usually get them with new mics that require more power.

They're more expensive than Aliexpress but they buy direct from the manufacturers, so you won't be getting a counterfeit as you risk with Aliexpress. In my experience delivery times with them have always been great (c. 2 weeks to the UK), but I know other anons have called them out for lying about stock levels and taking two weeks to ship orders out.

You can pay via Paypal, so if you get chinked you can easily get your money back.

Like that one anon who reported every cakebuxexploiter back in the days, and got like 4000 cakebux for it.
Gearjew is already known to bribe people with cakebux to advertise them on facebook and shopping forums, would be supriced if some anon offered to shill on /csg/.

It isn't that much harder than a maple board. Some people think they're hard on knives but like I said you should be honing every time you use your knives anyway regardless of cutting board.
They don't scar as much as a wood or plastic cutting board so they don't have pockets of bacteria living in them and your cutting is smoother. Not to mention they're WAY easier to maintain than wooden ones since they don't warp as much.

Mine had some malware baked in, but I managed to sort it out by flashing the rom into a recovery rom using the mi suite pc.

I did install aosp through twrrp once I got my approval (just say "Want to flash custom rom"), that is if you're willing to wait.

I personally prefer aosp and cyanogen, but it's your opinion.

Like I said, flash through recovery through the mi suit pc app (plug in phone, but to recover (boot up hold volume up) and flash the rom).

After that install gapps etc and wait.

Basically any media box can act as NAS. As can basically any development board thing that runs Linux and has some USB/SATA ports.

Some of the development boards and media box are slow on the USB / SATA ports though, so I guess you should first clearly evaluate what kind of functionality and performance you're going for

My CX-20 arrive quickly was less then a week from Banggood. Was about 350.00 to get the cx-20, gimble, xiaomi yi, and a uv lense filter.

Tried to fly it in the yard for a couple minuets. Was pretty shit at it thought I was pretty far from the tree on takeoff still manage to hit it. Almost drove it into the ground and ended up catching it. Only spent a few mins trying will need to go to a park or something nearby to really learn. Need open space.

Any advice for learning to fly drones for someone who hasnt before?

Pretty satisfied with the drone the price is right for something this size and it came without damage. It got a little beat up in shipping but its a box within a box and the scuffing outside did not translate to damage inside.

Also I need to get some mouse pads for work. Who is selling cheap microfiber? I might like some of the larger desk mats for this but it needs to be passably professional looking.

Will do more reviews for this cx-20 once I get enough hands on to have a useful opinion. Already looking at mods like grabbing dji blades and different landing gear but Ill probably wait to break those things before replacing. Also there is a gps module inside that is supposed to be greatly improved by moving it into the roof of the drone and putting a aluminum shielding under it.

Do you understand Linux or BSD okay? Easy to set up any of those distros or use a NAS-oriented distro with a laptop.

And well, you'll likely plug in your drives by USB, 'cause you said "laptop". You might want a dock for multiple SATA drives or something to do that, or just use external USB enclosures.

Then that is the way to go..

If you DiY rather than dropping FreeNAS or OpenMediaVault or EasyNAS or Nas4Free or some other such distro on there, it is probably prudent to just keep it simple.

Something like SSH + samba + maybe some UPNP/DLNA server. Just a barebones command line install. Serves files without interruption, keeps updates minimal, done.

Yeah, a server is not the place for experimenting unless you want family members to throw rocks at you. Also note that you can (and probably should) run Linux off a USB stick to keep your OS shit separate from the storage and reduce the scope for dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda'ing your data up.

Note that you could hook up a USB hub to your laptop's USB port and hang several external drives off it, at the expense of read/write speeds going to shit if more than one drive is being accessed simultaneously.

Usually not. Which is however not too strange for cheap mainboards with chip on board. Most of them get 1-2 updates tops and it's usually some bugfix for a fuckup or such.

Of course the Linux kernel or whatever maybe has more updates relevant to the board and chips on it...

Hmkay. Swiss mountain pleb here. I don't know much about Chile, sorry. Not quite getting why you can't get an Atom board from China at least, either.

But you'll manage if you can drop Linux or BSD (or Android maybe) on some device with a data connection. Ultimately you could even run a slower NAS off a smartphone.

Jihao are actually good fountain pens. I particularly like the 15, fine variant.

Ah yes, pic pulled from a review here - not mine:
http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/246134-jinhao-15-moka/

But I had around a dozen Hero / Jinhao / Baoer now, and that's the one I liked most for practical use. There are some that look more decorative though.
