I primarily program in Java and Python and I use Eclipse and Spyder IDE resepctively. Now that I switched my main hard drive to something with much more room, I think I'd like to get an IDE that actually requires an installation. How does Visual Studio Community sound? It looks really pretty!

>an IDE that actually requires an installation
how is that a good thing in any way
Let's see visual studio has zero java support and its overkill for Python.

Why switch from Eclipse? Eclipse is bae desu baka sempai
Mixed opinions out there on this one, but I personally prefer netbeans to eclipse when it comes to Java development. You should consider trying it.

I use eclipse for both
Honestly there isn't anything too amazing for python, and eclipse/iJ/beans are the only things decent for java

>IDE
Just use a text editor and a terminal.
Just use IntelliJ and PyCharm my man. VS is decent for C#/C++ but pretty shit for Python. Also it's heavy as fuck.

Why the fuck would you do that?
I mean, an IDE just makes the job easier for you.
I'd recommend IntelliJew for java

This. IntelliJ and PyCharm are the best for holding your hand and working well.
Else; Sublime & Terminal/Powershell
