I got one a few months ago and love the damn thing. So much functionality for ~$10. Wear this thing everywhere but the shower.

Only drawbacks are that it's on the small end (suits me fine, but will look weird if you have huge grisly wrists) and the backlight isn't quite spectacular.

It's a perfect beater watch to wear around in the yard/work/etc.

That being said, all the people in the Watch Thread are wasting hundreds of dollars on a depreciating piece of shit. Dropping $25 on a super-accurate Casio with a 10-year battery life isn't really the same thing.

There is, but it's easier to raise your wrist up rather than dig into your pocket and then swipe the lock screen.

Also, i jog while using my phone as an mp3 player, so i would have to switch the menu back to the stopwatch and then back to the music. A cheap Casio is simpler.

I thought you guys were exaggerating, what the fuck? Some people are in prison for wearing a Casio?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seton_Hall_reports#Detainees.27_profile

>it won't be off by even one second over a 10 year period

one of the most accurate quartz watches available (that doesn't recieve atomic signals), the citizen chronomaster is rated to ±5 seconds per year. and that's a specialty watch in that it's engineered to be as accurate as possible. do you really believe your pedestrian 2$ movement will be even more accurate than this?

even a cursory google search will prompt you to this:

"A typical quartz clock or wristwatch will gain or lose 15 seconds per 30 days (within a normal temperature range of 5 °C/41 °F to 35 °C/95 °F) or less than a half second clock drift per day when worn near the body."

i despise the fact that i had to get a source for this, it's absurd that any person on earth who owns a watch would hold this belief.

Stop fucking moving the goalposts you cringy piece of shit.
>>
>>54592650
Also it's funny because high quality mechanical clockes *ARE* more accurate than quartz.

A good mechanical chronometer with a modern movement can easily achieve 10x the accuracy of quartz, and a pendulum clock can achieve 100x the accuracy of quartz.

Even my $5 bedside alarm clock is a few orders of magnitude more accurate than your most expensive meme watches. Not to mention my computer, which is kept in sync to millisecond precision thanks to its usage of NTP.

The most accurate clock you can possibly get is one that is distributed across the entire earth. (To account for gravitational, rotational speed, etc. differences) And NTP allows you to leverage exactly that.

To all the phonefags:
I was raised to be punctual. I was raised to always were a watch, to always know what time it is.
I was raised that it's impolite to even look at your watch when talking to someone, that having them notice you're looking at your watch means you want the conversation to end. So I perfected the art of subconsciously being able to glance at your wrist, to always know what time it is.

You can't do that with a fucking phone.
Get a nice looking, comfortable watch for 10-200€, wear it every day until it's broken, get a new one. That's like a 500€ investment over a lifetime in exchange for always being punctual and not looking like a total ass just checking time.

Attach a nato strap. The strap pegs are a bit of a pain in the ass to remove on the F91w though
