OP's pic is Ubuntu propaganda. People who use Ubuntu want to think theyre users are 'normal' and Ubuntu is an advanced distro, theyre constantly trying to shoot down Mint, trying to make Unity look like its separate and not shoved down the users throat for so many years. Anyone who has used linux for more than a couple of years knows Debian is the best and most stable distro out there. If they use something else that's just personal preference or because they got used to it.

I'm sick of people who just installed arch or fedora or whatever as their first distro shitting on Debian. Debian has the largest server share on the internet. There's a good reason for that.

I chose Manjaro over Arch mainly because it was easier to install it, and I was a bit pressed for time as semester was starting, and from what I read it's at least a tiny bit more stable, not being as bleeding edge as Arch. I'm thinking about changing it when the summer comes around.

Arch takes all of 15 minutes to install, and another maybe 20 to set up.
There's no reason for you to use linux if you're scared of the CLI
>>
>>54578608
Package manager <> dependency resolution

Also in my experience, most packages have between zero and two dependencies. It's basically a non-issue.
>>
>>54578608
Why would I need to when the OS comes with everything I would ever need?
The only extra thing I had to install was mpv and it was no problem
>>
>>54578601

How many programmes do you install in a day?
1000?
Tracking dependencies is easy, and thats if you want to take that route. 1 or 2 deps is the norm for the majority of programmes and thats if it requires any at all. You have never used slackware and it shows.

Huge kernel will take care of it. Its fucking loaded to the max. Check its size.
>>
>>54578718
I haven't had a problem installing it in several years. As the guy above says, the default kernel is like a giant Swiss army knife made up of individual little Swiss army knives.

The idea behind the install process is, chuck everything in, and then you can configure the kernel with a script afterwards.

Yeah, pretty much. Although video card drivers are usually the FOSS version, you have to download the NVidia driver off their website.

I assume it's the same with other vendors, but I always stick with them, because their drivers work really well in Linux.

Other than video card drivers, I haven't downloaded and installed anything else, driver-wise.
