any of you fa/g/s ever tried a BTC ATM. if so, how was your experience?
>>
>>54570758
Went to one in MIT Bookstore
put $20 in, got $20 of bitcoin out
Literally painless.
>>
>>54571143
do you expect pain when you interact with ATMs?

or is it the bitcoin aspect that makes the painlessness noteworthy?
>>
>>54570758
I used the one at Hacker Dojo in MV. It was fine. Didn't require any ID stuff. You could either provide an address or it would print a paper wallet for you.

>>54571160
Bitcoin isn't really well suited to ATMs, so some include weird ID requirements and the like.
>>
>use real money to get imaginary money

maximum retard
>>
>>54571160
It was actually easier than a regular ATM
>start
>scan address
>insert $20
>press finish

Also
> the bitcoin aspect that makes the painlessness noteworthy

Given the complexity around it and how not many things were normie friendly, i'm impressed at how normie friendly it was.

Disclaimer - I kinda stopped caring about BTC after they fucked themselves over this last year

i remember it at about a dollar. had $30k for one-off reasons, honestly thought about investing some of it in bitcoin but figured it was a bit too speculative and maybe even scammy for me.

i try to remind myself that i'm upset about the idea of getting in at the optimal time AND getting out at the optimal time, and that's not just unlikely - that's completely bonkers. do you know how uncanny your foresight has to be to know the time to enter *and* the best possible time to leave? it's basically getting struck by lightning twice.

the best thing to do is to make informed, reasoned decisions about what to do with your money. you could find millions of instances where you could have doubled, quintupled, centupled, etc... your money "if only" you knew about events before they happened. but the world doesn't work that way.

you could have made a fortune on half a dozen things in the last 20 years if you knew the optimal times to buy, sell, and short various shit. no more reason to dwell on bitcoin than on any of those things (except, perhaps, that you know marginally more about bitcoin than about real estate).

at least, that's how i deal with it.
>>
>>54571321

I think it's just that we know it was so tantalizingly close and within reach, and that's what makes it rough. But yeah, I feel you.

I told you stupid bastards so many times in early 2010. No one believed me, no one paid attention to the math I did and constantly posted.

I was INSANELY conservative with it and still made ~$20k. I paid off my college loans with it.

you'd be amazed at how much easier it is to determine whether something's amiss offline than online.

or it is if you're generally socially competent. a lot of that signal is lost online, and we're still figuring out how to assess trustworthiness in online markets.

Face it buttcoins has no actual use for 99.9% of the world population and the rest of them are just criminals trying to buy as much time as possible before getting caught.

Prove me wrong.
Pro-tip you can't.
>>
>>54571620
>you'd be amazed
I've bought drugs in real life and in fake life and they both have their pros and cons.

Furthermore, the advantage of online marketplaces is the breadth of selection. I can't find a vendor for AL-LAD or LSZ in real life, and to even begin to do so I'd have to build up a chain of contacts to find someone who is hopefully legit. I can't find particular strains of cannabis in real life (not in my state, anyway), I have to take what the weedman has at the time, and I pretty much have to accept his pricing.

That right there is the biggest advantage to online drug purchases, I can pretty much find whatever I want when I want it, and then find the lowest price for said thing.
>>
>>54571620
>we're still figuring out how to assess trustworthiness in online markets.
grams does a pretty damn good job, so do the reviews on markets.

Anyone can find and read 6000+ reviews for a market vendor, all in one place, but the only way to vet a street dealer is ask the customers you know in person. Which is a number far, far less than 6000.
