Hey /g/
it seems that the next device I'll buy (tablet or small laptop) will run on either Windows 10 or Android;
I want to use the device for school stuff (writing essays/notes, making presentations), drawing, gaming and reading e-books mostly
Which OS device would be better suited for me? What are the pros and cons of both Android and Windows 10?
If you're on a tighter budget, Android.
But if you have some more room with budget, Surface tablets aren't bad - especially for using OneNote with a stylus to take notes, if that's how you want to go about it.
Android tablets are basically giant smart phones.
Windows 10 tablets are like scaled down laptops, and while not as powerful, still have access to better software. Especially Office.
Full version of Office is 10x better than any smartphone app / free Office online / Google Doc. That alone is a huge selling point, as a student.

Also, depending on your major, they might require you to install software such as Matlab, that's only supported on Windows (sometimes Mac), but rarely a mobile OS.
Example for art major would be Photoshop.
Example for engineering major would be Matlab.

Buy a Thinkpad and install Chromixium.
Get a small laptop you can install whatever os you want on that.

why not windows 8.1 or 7? have you heard of the privacy violations present in windows 10?

Windows 7 tablets don't exist
Also, you're already jacked the fuck in to the botnet if you own a smartphone. No sense worrying about what Windows is doing.

Win10 only has good quality desktop applications
Android has phone applications
