How is the quality control on the PG279Q?
I'm thinking of getting one next week.
I'm also considering getting a XB271HU or a PG278Q

it's shit go for aser XB271HU

how can I be sure you're not a shill?
>>54568000
read overclock 3d owners club of both and decide yourself.
If I had money I'd go for XB271HU though design is fucking atrocious

What's wrong with the design? I like it.
Got one. Looks sharp, almost no backlight bleed, renarkable for an ips.
Maybe I got lucky?

You got lucky.
Here's 20 different panels tested.

This is mine, look fine with good lighting and a decent wallpaper
>>54568783
can you turn that stupid red light off?
>>54568783
That does not look okay to me.

Yes.

How is this monitor? I'm tempted to get it because I really want a 1440p monitor (I only have a several years old hand me down 1080p monitor that's blurry no matter what input I use or device I hook up to it). How fast is the price on 1440p monitors coming down? Could I get one for $200 before 2017?

>How fast is the price on 1440p monitors coming down
not fast enough.
4K should really be the standard at about $300 bux but somethings got the system clogged.
Hell, phones are running 4K now, why do we get to wait?
The Acer XB271HU has a better panel, the same specs and costs less. QA/customer service for both Asus and Acer are about the same too, so it's not like you lose there either. About the only advantage of the Asus monitor is a better design, as if that matters.

but those backlight bleedz

>800€

I don't know. Maybe it's because only a small subset of PC gamers buy 1440p monitors so the economies of scale aren't there yet? Maybe we have to wait until corporations start using 1440p or 4k for their workstations in a large scale so that the panel manufacturers recoup whatever investments they had to make to be able to produce 1440p and 4k screens and then the price on all 1440/4k panels starts to drop?

Those photos are enhances to show the bleed better. In real viewing conditions, you won't see any bleed.
I'm using a PG279Q vertically and the viewing angles are TERRIBLE
