You should know if you really wat to be a sysadmin. Also: know all of the major switch and ap config commands by heart, and be able to setup dns, zfs, vpns, and firewalls from terminal. Also puppet and ansible.

I would start off with reading stuff about Net+ move on to Sec+ and then go into Cisco ICND 1 and 2
