This is a support thread for Meriken's Tripcode Engine English.

3.0.0 (May 14, 2016)
Add preliminary support for Linux x86_64.

"Meriken's Tripcode Engine English" is a cross-platform application
designed to generate custom/vanity tripcodes at maximum speed.
It is arguably the fastest and most powerful program of its kind.
(This program actually runs faster than the original mty or
MTY_CL on the same hardware!) It makes effecitive use of
available computing power of CPUs and GPUs, and the user
can specify flexible regex patterns for tripcodes. It features highly
optimized, extensively parallelized implementations of bitslice
DES and SHA-1 for OpenCL, AMD GCN, NVIDIA CUDA,
and Intel SSE2/AVX/AVX2.

"Meriken's Tripcode Engine English" is free software, licensed
under GPLv3 and available for free download at the following links:

Got any benchmarks compared with other programs?

Cool. It's not good to run programs like this for extended periods of time is it right?

I might give the linux build a try.
>>
>>54553738
I'm running this program on the same hardware 24/7 for three years. It is water-cooled, though.
>>
>>54553853
The performance should be the same for AMD.
>>
>>54553857
How would it run on a hitty thinkpad?
>>
>>54553899
Watch out for CPU temps. Should be OK, tho.
>>
>>54553907
It sort of works... I'm working on it.
>>
>>54553841
I'd love to hear about it.
>>
>>54553907
I mean, it still works better than other programs. I was shocked people are still using Tripcode Explorer...
>>
>>54554347
That'd be great! I look forward to it.
>>
>>54553857
Do you share the file of stuff you've found so far?
>>
>>54554444
I share them once in a while...I gave !EEEEEEEEEE to Toriya, the original author of mty.

Does this work here?

Where am I supposed to put this file?

Should be in the current directory. Did you build it on Linux?

Yeah, I worked it out.
Just ran MerikensTripcodeEngine -f /path/to/patterns.txt

Wonderful! How fast is this program running?

It must be CPU only then... Do you have a video card?
>>

Nope, I'm the one on the thinkpad.

Good stuff... CUDA support is on its way. Should be 4x faster.

Ah, I see. There is still room for improvements for the Linux CPU version. Thanks for trying it!

Hi there!

You seem to have made a bit of a mistake in your post. Luckily, the users of 4chan are always willing to help you clear this problem right up! You appear to have used a tripcode when posting, but your identity has nothing at all to do with the conversation! Whoops! You should always remember to stop using your tripcode when the thread it was used for is gone, unless another one is started! Posting with a tripcode when it isn't necessary is poor form. You should always try to post anonymously, unless your identity is absolutely vital to the post that you're making!

Now, there's no need to thank me - I'm just doing my bit to help you get used to the anonymous image-board culture!
>>
>>54554981
Is there somewhere I can read about how it works? Every time I run it does it start again from the start or is it storing previous searches?
>>
>>54555003
honestly dude, only autistic faggots care. if you need everyone to be an anonymous cool kid with a guy faggot mask, go to /b/ and grind your teeth there.

Does this run on non-x86 chips like the CPU generator that akariposter made a while back?

Not yet, but I'm working on it.
>>
>>54555133
Excellent!
>>
>>54555003
Oh, I've been around 2ch.net since 2001, even before 4chan was born, so I do know the culture. Think of my use of tripcodes as a post-modern social experiment with online identity and anonymity.
>>
>>54555334

Whoops! You still have your trip code on!
>>
>>54553624
Just curious, are you the anon that used to post Akari in every OP?

Well here's the result of your social experiment:

Fuck off and go die in a fire you piece of shit tripcoding fucking nigger.

Unlike OpenCL, I cannot dynamically generate kernels with CUDA, so I have to prepare 4096 of them statically. It takes half a day to build them. It's crazy.

What the fuck is this and what is it for?

I suppose I am fascinated with the subject of ephemeral online identity. You could say I am obsessed.
>>
>>54555616
That would explain it.

Works now
Thanks dev guy
I hope the bitcoin mining works out
>>
>>54555590
I actually do...
>>
>>54555643
Great! The concept of blockchain is fascinating, too. I would like to integrate it with tripcode generation.
>>
>>54555659
Sorry for being off topic. But, I'm kind of weird about this, I love image board 'history' and stuff like that in general...
Would you ever upload it? I think it would make me pretty happy.
>>
>>54555529
>I cannot dynamically generate kernels with CUDA
wat? Can't you build it at runtime?
>>
>>54555818
I don't think nvcc is part of the NVIDIA video driver. (In contrast, OpenCL drivers are capable of compiling source codes at run-time.) I cannot expect the average Windows user to install CUDA Toolkit just to run this tripcode generator...
>>
>>54555772
No prob. There is a ton of stuff online in Japanese. I at least want to write about a history of tripcodes and the art of tripcode generation.
>>
>>54555019
Pretty much all tripcode generators takes the same approach: Generate pseudo-random keys, generate tripcodes for them, and see if they match specified patterns. I am planning to write about tripcode generation, but it may take some time.
>>
How do I specify that any letter case is acceptable for a search?
>>
>>54556000
You mean, something like this?

#regex
^[mM][eE][rR][iI][kK][eE][nN]

Nice tripcode, by the way!
>>
>>54556026
Sweet, thanks. This trip generated in 2 seconds for my search then I got nothing else so I got pretty damn lucky.
>>
>>54556041
That's exceedingly rare. Good stuff.
>>
Alright, I got to go now. It was fun talking to you guys. I will keep working on the Linux version. I would also like to translate my distributed tripcode search service into English. I will keep you posted.
>>
>>54556205
Keep up the good work fampai
