What's the best C compiler?
What do you compile your C with? What options do you use?
I findgcc -Wall -Wextra -O2pretty comfy
>>54549540
why no O3
>>54549593
O3 unrolls loops and can result in bloated binary sizes.
>>54549722
>hurr muh disk space
use -Os you retard
HolyC
Nah jk, LLVM is the only GOD tier compiler for me
>>54549811
Binary sizes matter for cache locality...
>>54549540
Clang and >>54549838
>>54550010
geez just solder more cache to your cpu
>>54550132
Bigger binaries -> more solder
>>54549540
pretty sure the paid-for Intel compilers have always had the best performance and optimization across platforms
for windows, MSVC is also well-optimized, but obviously isn't cross-platform
>>54550132
Oh no incoming ⌚⌚
gcc main.c -o program
>not programming your software in assembly, max level
>not just writing microcode for your CPU to do things at the bare machine level
>not designing custom circuits that accomplish the calculations you need and inputting the given output using a separate computer
