How is reverse engineering on Linux?
I would like to quit Windows(at the very leat dual boot Windows for gaming and Linux for work)but I'm not sure if Linux has anything that is even comparable to the power of Ida Pro.

radare2 is touted as a poor man's IDA. It's worth looking into: http://radare.org/

also id suggest just setting up gdb server on the machine and connect to that from ida because ida is superior

I can confirm wine works really well. Also look into hopper, the only assembler that can assemble ARM and THUMB.
