Bought myself Xiaomi mi5 few weeks ago. Was happy that I finally got a high end device and that everything will finally be smooth.
Last week howewer, everything was going downhill. Everything is becoming more and more laggy, hell, even facebook is crashing - the very reason why I wanted a new phone in the first place. I though a phone ranked at the top of antutu benchmarks would not have these problems. Is there anything I can do about it? Or should I just sell it and give try to new iPhone SE ?

Just so a full wipe, I assume you've never done that? Else, if your tech literate, you could do some basic debugging through adb.
that's why I don't trust any chinese producer, oneplus, meizu, oppo, xiaomi, for phones hardware is not everything
benchmarks could even be top, but daily usage is totally different story.

Go to app settings and clear cache.
Also remove apps you don't use, it's just unnecessary bloat. If miui is an issue, install a more lightweight launcher.

You did something to break it, but maybe check your ROM over to make sure it's not one that came preinstalled with unofficial chink botnet. I've had my RN3P for about a month now and I've never had any performance problems.

There is no alternative for the Samsung S7.
The Edge is too big, even though has better battery life.
But S7 + root = best device you can get atm.

Are you aware that HTC phones are currently the worst Android phones out there? They have been panned in literally every review. That's why they are going bust.
Any newer Nexus is the way to go. Best stock experience, it's Android how it should be, without gimmicky bullshit like touchwiz. Plus, if you choose to root, there are a multitude of options.
