im thinking about replacing my 10 year old samsung secondary monitor with another 22" or more @ 1080p

doesnt have to be "gaming" just something nice for watching movies/twitch/youtube

ive been out of the loop for a while

what is the best bang for buck monitor? TN IPS LED LCD

are any of these good?
>>
oh and for around $200 CAD (maple syrup bux)
>>
>>54534112
none of them are decent?

is ISP better than TN?
>>
>getting a 1080p monitor as a new monitor
1440p or nothing.
>>

why

What's the difference between 'gaming' monitors and monitors used for professional work like graphic design/photo/video editing/animation? I reckon you'd need an IPS panel for screen accuracy and refresh rates don't matter so... cheaper than 1ms 144hz gaming monitors?
>>
>>54534708
apparently gaming TN panels are alot faster but have inaccurate color quality and viewing angle is supposedly worse

i have a asus VG248QE 144hz and i dont notice bad viewing angles
>>
>>54534708
Gayming monitors have a faster response time and less input lag, there are some cheap ips screens out there if you want the best picture.

dude, are you me? I was just looking at monitors today for the exact same reason

Was going to get something today but decided to do a bit more research
>>
>>54535046
i might be you
ASUS VS239H-P 23" Widescreen IPS seems decent

for ~$200

I'm torn between 24" and 27" -- which GTG stats, like will 4ms vs 1ms make that much of a difference? 60hz vs 144hz. anything more than 1000:1 DCR just a rip-off stat or what?

I dunno, i'm finding the decisions hard. I keep leaning more toward BenQ though, not quite sure why.

the one on bottom is exact same price as this
>>

Yeah, i'm not even sure if grey to grey and contrast ratios are something I should care about or not. I'm sure people will get into fights about it. I'm guessing refresh rate matters more?

I guess contrast ratio depends on whether or not i plan on doing any graphic design shit? which i'm not. gaming and programming. so i figure anythng that's 1000:1 dcr is good enough.

ja
>>
>>54535281
oh. but it's IPS instead of TN. I see. If IPS is what you're going for, then my guess is, for that price, it's the better pick of the two.
>>
>>54535527
but then again, the gtg is higher... so I dunno. Wonder if that'lll be noticeable for movies, games or something moving fast...
