Why is it important to you that the Government not spy on your information? Why is it important that corporations not do so? Neither have actually taken money or property away, and have done nothing outside their legal domain.

I've been doing my research and cannot, at the moment, think of a counter argument to not regulating digital privacy. Help me out.

Are you comfortable living in a society where governments know everything about everyone at all times? A society where this government assumes this power in complete secrecy and explicitly lies to oversight committees?

If you have done nothing illegal why are you being treated as such(constantly tracked)?
>>
You say that now, but wait until the SJWs elect some commie/muslim into office and they take offense to the fact that you like to jack off to gay porn and feminine penises
>>
>>54520725
Do you want the government to know what porn you watch?

>have done nothing outside their legal domain

This is nonsense. The entire rationale behind the 4th Amendment was to eliminate "general warrants." Prior to the American Revolution, it was common place for the King or local authorities to issue a warrant to search entire cities, neighborhoods, and populations. This is why the 4th Amendment says "and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

The government doesn't have the right to search your effects without particularized suspicion of criminal activity. The government's only argument is that siphoning up all of your internet activity by breaking into the networks of private companies isn't really a "search" and they aren't really "collecting" anything, they're merely storing it so they can look into it.

They show me their's, and I'll show them mine. What does the govt have to hide that they fear transparency so much?

Because you can get arrest even if you're innocent. The reason privacy matters is because you could be on the "Wanted" list of you're either a cyber criminal, murder, bomber, stealing sensitive documents of government operations and sending them to a foreign country. (Which that's consider a death penalty I think) Tbh I don't care what the government does because all I know what the government does is they arrest bombers, hackers, hijackers and data theft. Sometimes piracy but ever since a pool of server notice what torrenting is. They don't know how much of a risk they can get into trouble for SOPA. That's why Microsoft made Windows 10. To prevent a pool of traffic ips from pirating software (aka) not consider torrenting anymore. But the thing that every other person in power is all they ever want is money. The government all they ever do is take our taxes. Why? To build roads. To make new buildings, to invest a new of 'anew' The only that is missing is family and no one in this particular world ever has a family as friends and friends against racism. If anyone can do and feel the same way why don't we feel them together with a hug or a doll or something caring something you have for long term memory or a moment you wan to remember. Why can't the government think that instead of all this buildings? If anyone can make a family anyone can make a building together no matter of you're a stranger or not love one another be apart of stupid or whatever the country is

1. Privacy is essential for a functioning democracy.
2. They have taken private information of mine and duplicated it in violation of the terms I desire, while failing to reciprocate by allowing me to duplicate their information freely without the risk of a copyright infringement suit.

my mom asked me this yesterday when the topic of Apple not decrypting their shit to the FBI came up, and my answer only illicited a "so what?" from, so I don't know if my argument isn't sound or if she's just retarded, but it goes like this

The foundation of a free society is freedom. However, governments are necessary to provide security. To maintain that security, certain freedoms must be relinquished. There exists a constant battle between these two, where the government is constantly pulling away your freedoms to provide more securities for the establishment, and the populace pulling the opposite way. A society that demonstrably works is one where both sides care for their respective values. However, when one side begins to disrespect their own value and be swayed by the opposing force, this balance begins to break and it shifts towards a more anarchic or more totalitarian system.

Now when you give up your freedoms such as your privacy, your information, etc. The government now has something it wants, it has pulled the rope a little closer to it's ultimate goal of total authority. The ruled, however, have gained little, if anything, from giving this up, other than the convenience of not having to protect their information from the prying eyes of interested parties. The balance of power is now skewed against your favor. Why would anyone in their right mind choose this future?
>>
Because your information can and will be used against you by private entities when it gets leaked/sold.
