Hey, I'm fairly inexperienced and I'm looking for a career in CS. I am graduating high school in a month and I only know a little visual Basic. I am enrolled at Rutgers Camden for computer science and I would be paying 0$ for tuition because poorfag assistance. I currently work at a grocery market. Oh makefiles work for me, that isn't the issue. It's just a pain in the ass navigating to the correct directory and shit every time I want to compile. Makefiles are clearly more appropriate for MinGW which I use, using bat files to compile is clearly bad practice in that regard, but it's just so much faster and easier to compile using bat files, and it shouldn't be.
