I saw it fit to generalize because I had the same issues with the almost every one of the popular distros. Yes, Linux is all about choice. There's so many ways to fail at solving the same problem.

Unless you're using Ozmosis, there is a lot of shit that won't work or is a bitch to get working. (For serious though, use Ozmosis.)
