Hey /g/. I'm building a portable, solar-powered computer designed for innawoods. Will water-cooling be sufficient enough to keep it from overheating? The build will be inside a metal case rigged to a hiking backpack. I also thought about putting a container of dry ice in some of the pockets and inserts.
epic

Thanks for the bump

just get a tablet and battery bank lmaoing @ u r life
can you imagine the size of a solar cell bank capable of running your average gaymur neetstation?
You have bigger problems.

It's not going to be a gaymur neetstation, it's so me and my friends can anime and play doom innawoods. I don't expect it to generate much heat.

Actually it could be powered by a single 300w solar panel, a few lithium car batteries, and a DC to AC inverter. On average a desktop PC won't use much electricity especially for web browsing/video playback. However if you did play vydia on it 24/7 then I can see that being a problem.
Shit would be expensive as fuck though. Just stick to the grid OP, going solar sucks ass right now.

x260 chinkpad goes like 15h+ on battery.
Then it's a matter of getting a bank of power cell capable of outputing required voltage and current and soldering a proper connector.
x260 adapter is [email protected]
There you go.

completely forgot about a charge controller.
It will be required to make sure you get a steady voltage going to your laptop.
Otherwise it might get bonkered
