Windows 10 on my desktop because I like to play games.

Android 5.1 because that's what Samsung released and will likely keep my cheap phone on.

Chrome OS for my laptop. I bought a Dell Chromebook 13 because the hardware is genuinely good. The issue is the last build of Gallium OS I tried constantly ran the CPU at full power and never got the fans going so the thing was boiling hot and the battery went from 10 hours to 4. Now I'm waiting for a finished Coolstar BIOS so I can just slap either Ubuntu 16.04 or Windows 10 on the fucker.

Ubuntu 16.04 for most of my family's computers. It does what they need, is dead simple, and they don't know how to break it.

Windows 10 on Desktop for vidya
OpenBSD on laptops for programming & networking hijinks
>>
There is only one correct answer:

Windows for vidya
OS X for serious work
OpenBSD for server
>>
I have Windows 7 on my downstairs pc because Ableton is the only DAW I can use well, but I bought Ardour yesterday so maybe I will like that enough eventually to get rid of Windows for good. Mint Cinnamon on 2 laptops.
>>
Windows 10 on all my PC's and I love it. I haven't used W7 for 3 years now and I am not going back to that deprecated piece of crap ever.

Windows 8.1 on my phone and I hate it. MS seriously killed the whole platform with the W10M fiasco and 8.1 is completely abandoned by now.

I only bought my current phone because it was one of the last things Nokia made. Never again will I trust MS when it comes to mobile.
>>
I dual boot Arch and Windows 10. Windows for games and Linux for everything else. Tried to game on Linux but it's just not there yet, too many inconveniences. It's not just games but lack of 3rd party support and mods, Windows is just objectively better for gaming. Might try to do VM with GPU passthrough soon.

look into the alternative flavors for ubuntu. unity is a giant piece of shit. Debian is only slightly more difficult to install, but it is pretty nice if your drivers are supported. Mint and Manjaro are supposedly user-friendly, but major security flaws on both distro's websites makes them unviable at the current time.

If you have heard about this Arch thing, but don't want to contract autism go with Antergos. I can't vouch for how simple it is to use though.

Avoid arch if you are a beginner or just avoid it period. Only good thing about Arch is pacman, which you get with Antergos. When you become more experienced with linux, give gentoo or slackware a try. Or don't its your fucking hardware do what ever the fuck you want with that, that is the major advantage of using linux to be honest.

I'm using windows XP gold edition (a tweaked iso i found on /g/ some months ago). It works nice and fast. Also, i liked the new gold theme.

Do you think Arch Linux is good?
>>
>>54493181
Let me interject for a moment, but there is no operating system called "Linux", rather a free component of fully free packaged collections called GNU/Linux distros.
There is a Linux, and people are using it, but its only part of the system they use
>>

While I've used Fedora as my main OS in the past, I got fed up having to reboot every time I felt like doing serious photoshopping or gaming. Besides, it just werkz.

Arch Linux is the best, unlike those other poser distributions it gives you the real Linux experience. Only moutbreathers use Ubuntu and Windows. Pacman is probably the best package manager, it's super easy to use. If you have problems using it it's your fault and not anything to do with how it's designed. You should try arch today.

>What os do you use and why?
Slackware.

Because it quite literally just werkz.

It installs fine on any hardware I've ever tried, and it's rock solid.

It's super simple, nothing convoluted, just have to look around for the right text file, and when you find it, it'll be well-commented. Completely disabling something like pulseaudio is as simple as sudo chmod -x /etc/rc.d/rc.pulseaudio

It never just decides to just randomly break down on you because you stepped away from the computer for two seconds, and it decided to update some software of its own accord. This is a problem for basically every OS these days, it's ridiculous.

It does a really good job at teaching you about how everything works. It doesn't hold your hand, but every step of the way, you'll find comments and text files everywhere helping you along. Just on the install disc, there's fourteen different text files in the root folder, for however you want to install it:

Windows 10. I need to play Killer Instinct, and it doesn't run on Windows 7

I plan on downloading Arch to a 32 gig flash drive this week, so I can boot it like it's a hard disk.

Using 8.1 or 10 Mobile? I had a 625 but after almost 2 years some pieces stopped working and I got tired of replacing them, but it still works; I bought an Android phone tho.
So, are W10 phone apps outdated as the 8.1 ones? I mean:

Arch breaks if the user is retarded or if they did something retarded.

You probably tried to install arch but couldn't follow basic instructions. We don't need you in the arch community anyway.

Look up Bumblebee, if I can get to work on Fedora you can get it to work on Debian.
