Ever since the latest cumulative Windows 10 update, the start menu takes like 2 seconds to open up. This is clearly some botnet shit sending statistics to Microsoft's servers about how I use my start menu.

Recommend a less cucked OS please (preferably Linux and not Gentoo)

Will look into this. Need to be able to run Wine or some translation layer for Ableton as I do a lot of work in audio. Is there any alternatives to lightroom in Linux?

Get classic shell or buy a proper PC.

Just use Classic Shell. I mean it's not going to solve Window's horrific telemetry spying but at least you will have a functional Start Menu.

Well, she isn't functional at least. My search window doesn't pop up. Maybe it's a timeout issue.

Well that explains why your start takes so long to load, it tries to start up Cortana so you could use the search but it fails and then re-opens without it.

It's a dream. Literally one of the best ultrabooks I've ever laid my hands on. It's overkill for everyday use, and your money is probably better spent on something more modest but I do a lot of intensive editing and mixing on the road where a lot of notebooks fall behind for me, so this machine is perfect. It also serves well for my other hobbies like photography and filming.

I do photo and video editing and compile stuff so I wanted a beefy ultrabook as I also don't have space in my apartment, and I love the portability of a laptop too. Still deciding between the 15 inch and the 13.3 inch. What's the screen resolution of the 15 inch?

I got the 1080p display because I felt like 4k is unnecessary at the viewing distances I use my laptop at, not to mention windows does not do scaling properly with certain applications that don't support it. In my mind, I justified it with battery life assuming a 1080 wouldn't need to be driven as much by the GPU and thus saving battery life - I doubt that's the case but it was another point I considered before buying the laptop. Depends on what you want really, but personally I don't think I would have benefited much from having a 4k display in anyway.
>>
>>54485886
I'm also gonna put Linux on it. Not quite sure how well scaling is gonna be, but I'll roll with it.

I definitly recommend Linux... other brands are hideously expensive and make my family cringe their teeth whenever I use it. Linux is always my favorite wether you have a small or big batch jobs at hand since it always gives the most polished and immaculate results... only after I began using linux did I have such an easy time and started having time for what really matters.
