chinkman arduino seems to work fine with the official software winblows seemed to install all necessary drivers by itself, decent buy for ~$5

You get directly an sms that you've just missed a call, there's a fix but then you get 50% of your battery life. It seems that just a handful of us have this problem.

GAYBEAST told me to do a factory reset.
>>
>>54458927
Post it into the MIUI forums, the Pajeets over there will help you
>>
>>54459000
already did, there are a lot of threads and apparently the pajeet developers are working on a fix, but with the last couple of OTAs didn't fix shit.

I've heard that this bug is there even on AOSP

Any place to get cheap and playable guitar strings?

Got mine from gearbest too. Did you flash the ROM to the global version? Gearbest put on a weird version of MiUI on mine
>>
Got one of those cheap lapel mics today. Voice quality is so so. Heaps of distortion when amping it up even a little. This is labelled as 'base' volume on my xfce volume manager:
http://vocaroo.com/i/s0xd8s5XrgCJ
>>
>>54459026
mine came with a funny version like 7.1.99.99 = non existent. I flashed iirc 7.1.8.0, got an OTA week later, and another to 7.2.5.0 couple of days ago. which version do you have ?

i might try xiaomi.eu's rom these days
>>
>>54459044
Xiaomi.eu roms are good, can confirm. They have a few fixes and generally felt a bit more stable. There are pre rooted ones in MIUI and XDA forums too.
>>

They're decent toys but last minutes and are very unstable in flight, as with all small quadcopters

Gearbest sent me a tracking number but it doesn't work. Should I wait?

Need help with ordering a cx-20. They are 200 near me in chicago suburbs but not the open source. And I will want to get this thing on a computer controlled patrol eventually.

This is the link I am looking at. http://www.banggood.com/Cheerson-CX20-Opensource-Version-AutoPathfinder-Quadcopter-RTF-p-932145.html

Never ordered chink shit before am I pretty safe?

Also what should I be looking at for the gimbal? People recommended the xiaomi yi camera. There there some gimbal out there Ill be able to control remotely after figuring everything out? Im looking to make small videos for local family business. And would like to eventually get the thing to follow a path for some shots. The coding wont be a problem.

Also been looking at youtube and all the little upgrades that can be done including getting the phantom parts like blades and blade guards.

I don't know about the redmi 3 pro, but I'm using a redmi 3 and I cannot even tell you how statisfied with this thing. I use it for my mail, browsing, clover, watching malaysian basket weaving tutorials and whatever else you'd usually use a smartphone for and it works perfectly. The camera is also quite damn good in decent to good lighting conditions.

And I get more than 10 hours of screen time while using it for all the things mentioned above.

I don't know what the hell people do with their phones that makes them need something more than what this offers.

It's basically a barebones android. No bloatware, no chinkware. Just basic shit with googleplay so you can download other shit you need. Rooted as well.

It's good shit. I use it on my redmi note 3 pro, 2g ram and 16gb internal. Haven't found any bugs yet. Fingerprint scanner also works just fine.

It's actually better than MIUI in my use, I get about 30+ minutes more of screen on time on this AOSP compared to MIUI so I like it.

>>54461664
MIUI-8 releases tomorrow and within a week or so's time hopefully the kernel source will be released, then there might be CM13, as for this AOSP build, it was built by Qualcomm themselves, hence why its practically perfect, the only issue with that is we don't know when they will release or "leak" a marshmallow build, until then you'd have to use CM13 which I anticipate with the MIUI-8 sour e code should be perfectly fine after a few weeks of the devs working on the source over at XDA (pajeets are jobless so it might even be quicker than that)

>>54461925
You were where I was at, I was annoyed by MIUI's bloat but i wanted some neat features, particularly reading mode and one handed mode, they were both neat, but both have been resolved in AOSP, for reading mode i just use F.lux which is automatic anyways and for one handed mode there is no need since i only typed with one hand and now the latest Google keyboard has a one-handed mode which I'm actually using to type this now. (Pic related), overall it's solid af, it feels like I'm using my old Nexus 5, no bugs or issues and its lightweight enough that it is a battery hog or anything, I'd recommend it to anyone who will unofficially unlock (I did but I got my unlock code yesterday from Xiaomi so I'm going to officially unlock soon, probably after testing out the MIUI-8 firmware - which you have to lock your bootloader for or its a messy editing hacked hassle to get working via twrp.)

>>54462017
They never say no but it takes a while, mine took 4 days.

>>54462026
> Do I need to do a factory reset
Unfortunately yes, that's why when I get a device i always unlock it instantly so I have no data to loose when if i had decided to unlock it later.

>>54462031
they don't ignore English, I sent mine in English and I got my unlock code.
>>
>>54462232
also there's a bug, i think im the only one from /csg, where you get no incoming calls while display is off/standby. you directly get an sms about a missed call. there's a fix, but with reduced battery life.

afaik the developers are working on it

otherwise it's a great device

is the 'unofficial' root anything like we used to do in the galaxy s2 days? Basically a hard flash with a janky-ass software - chance of bricking. (Bonus question, what was that software...?)

I just said "I'd like to unlock the device for development purposes" (in English) and that worked, got mine in 4 days.
There's always an unofficial unlock available too btw.

>>54462283
It's easy, and if you can't wait then just unofficially unlock until you get the official lock code, that's what I've done.

I'm >>54462286 btw.

>>54462300
I don't have this issue, update to the latest LHOMIDIA firmware or whatever then flash the AOSP ROM, it all works smoothly.

>>54462232
Make sure to shill it when you get it because it truly is great for the price.

Btw pic related is my unlock request approval, i asked via English and basically just said "I want unlock for dev purposes" and it all worked within 4 days, but I got impatient and unofficially unlocked but im going to officialy unlock soon.

I honestly wrote my entire unlock request in english. I just said I wanted to unlock bootloader so I can use it in the US. And they granted my request after a week.

Just be warned, some reason the unlock program doesn't fucking work with global rom. It's so weird.

I had to flash official chinese rom, then download official chinese dev rom and put it into a sd card, then use updater app from within the offical chinese room to update to chinese dev rom. THEN the unlocker program worked.
>>
>>54462344
It's sort of like that, you have to flash the official firmware and your replacing a single file which normally blocks outside unlock, so once you replace it, you can run "fastboot oem unlock" just fine without that file doing verification or whatever.
>>
>>54462349
>I don't have this issue, update to the latest LHOMIDIA firmware or whatever then flash the AOSP ROM, it all works smoothly.

Apparently this bug is found also on devices with AOSP.
For sure will try other roms

Yeah it is on AOSP because it's a baseband issue or something like that which is fixed in the latest MIUI7 update, so update your entire device firmware and then flash AOSP, then it should be fine, that's what ive done and I managed to get a call last night whilst my device was asleep and untouched for at least 3-4 hours so it was definitely in deep sleep.

It sucks for VR things where the screen is split in half, tested it with a 5" 1080p screen and everything looks blurry as hell.

Works well for watching movies though so yeah, if you want to watch movies, chinese cartoons or porn for $7 it's okay.

So, redmi 3 pro vs redmi note 3 pro (2gb ram version)? I can get either for about the same price. I'm leaning towards the regular redmi 3 pro because of the extra gig of ram.
>>
>>54463032

Yes.

>>54463120
Not many of them say xiaomi they all say go pro. Its a clone though I think so unless there is some kind of control that passes through the gimbal should be ok. Ill google a little.
>>
>>54463144
I would stick for the Note 3 Pro because of the processor, if you don't mind the extra power I guess the regular Redmi is good
>>
>>54463208
Is the note processor that much better? I'm not sure at which point the note's better processor will really have an impact, since I'm not really into smartphones.
>>
>>54463193
Hope you enjoy it , Im here waiting for my eachine 250 ;=;
>>
>>54463263
It is because it's a snapdragon processor which means you'll get actual updates since there is source code, if you get the non-note version, it's got an MTK processor so you wont receive Roms/updates that much and there won't be stable custom ones either.
>>
>>54463329
the redmi 3 pro comes with a Snapdragon 616, according to the spec sheet on the store page.

the 650 is far better than the 616
>>
>>54462357

>>
>>54463700
I don't doubt it, but will all that extra power have a tangible impact for a casual user like me? Like, what kind of things am I going to notice it? Also, is it better to have the better processor or an extra gig of ram?
>>
>>54463662
I'd choose larger screen over more ram. Especially as you don't seem like you'd need the performance.

I've got a non pro rmn3 and it runs really well for shitposting, music, games etc

I might very well pick up a regular redmi 3 with SD616/2gig ram, like that other guy earlier this thread. I just really don't think the extra power of the note is going to do anything for me when I'm watching my vietnamese basket weaving videos on the train.

Or maybe I should jump for the 3gb redmi 3 pro, since it's not that much more expensive and comes with a fingerprint sensor.

I'm really bad at these kind of decisions.

>>
>>54462782
Got it from gearbest, using the ROM it shipped with. I considered flashing something else, but I can't be bothered to attempt to fix something that is very far from broken.

I ordered it with expedited shipping (was only 12 bucks, funnily enough, the slower paid shipping option was 24 bucks) and it got shipped with DHL. Based chinks declared it as a 60 bucks device, which is under the customs limit here so it slipped right through.
>>
Any good chink 2.1 speakers?
>>
>>54463979
There is a Redmi Note 3 Pro with 2gb ram, 16gb internal out there that is slightly cheaper than the 3gb, 32gb internal version. Also comes with a sd card slot so you can just slap on a 128gb micro sd card.

That's the version I got. At the time i got mine, it was like 40 bucks cheaper than the 3GB ram, 32gb internal version....
>>
>>54463979
I recommend biting the bullet and getting the note because at the end of the day there will be no regret, and you get a fingerprint sensor, plus it will be more future proof and generally better overall, you might have to pay 50-100$ more or however much it is, but in the end it will be worth it for a better and more longer lasting experience, don't forget that a smartphone now a days is something you use and rely on all the time, so invest in it.
>>
>>54464047
How does it manage with the 2 gigs of ram? I'm just not sure if MIUI will give me problems with only 2 gigs of ram. All I'm ever going to attempt is weeb videos and maybe some emulators, but still.
