I'll start first. I'm currently using a Corsair 500R mid tower and just bought a Corsair 750D full tower for more room and better airflow. I almost got the 760T but heard bad things about the flimsy door and bad dust filter placements. Did I do good?

I have a 750D, but with a custom etched side panel.

Overall a nice case, lots of space for HDDs or radiators or whatever reallly.

May I ask why you hate the window? I personally like the idea of having a window so I can show my build off.

Nice build! Mine will also have blue LED lights when my stuff come in. Right now, mine is pretty lame with no LED lights or side window. Here are my current specs which I'll be moving over to my new 750D.

it's all white LEDs but the acrylic adds a blue tint, especially from that extreme angle (otherwise the anime etching doesn't show up well on camera)

In person however it looks white.

I'm looking for a cheaper case that looks like the Fractal Design R5, Fractal Design S or NZXT S340. Any help?
>>
>>54453518
oh shit well damn it still looks clean as fuck. im going black and blue on my setup. white and black setup is still great. i also like red and black. another thing i like about the 750D is it offers more hard drive space, all my bays are occupied right now in the 500r.

>>54453524
no SLI unfortunately, i fell for the meme 970 card which i should have gotten 980. this was before 980ti was introduced. now that 1070 and 1080 are around the corner, i may just wait for 1080ti. i have never SLI before cause of the cost. it would be nice to use nvidia surround though. my 970 has reached temps over 90C before which is why im looking at the 750D.

>>54453531
kek'd. coming from a gigabyte mobo, i actually love this mobo a lot better.

maybe 450D but has less drive bays. or 550D. sorry i really like corsair's cases. friend says nanoxia deep slience 2 is a good mid tower.

>is it offers more hard drive space
This is the the main reason I went for it. 3x4TB HDDs + a 5TB HDD right now, and I expect to expand ~3-4TB every year. So for now I have 2 more internal bays available. once those are filled I can buy a 3x3.5" 2x5.25" front bay adapter. For 3 more HDDs.

After that I will probably end up setting up a NAS.

when i first looked at it, i was like this case looks like shit design from the side and top as it looks like its growing cancer but when i scrolled through the images, damn that one 230mm Fan is fucking beast. this case does have a lot of options for airflow. very nice

>>54453757
i currently host a private plex server on a netgear readynas on 16TB raid5. question.. what hard drives did you go with? most of mine are blue western digital except my 3tb which is a seagate.
>>
>>54453837
Right now I have 2x4TB Seagate 5400RPM drives, a 4TB Toshiba 7200 RPM drive, and a 5TB Western digital Black 7200 RPM drive.

Ughh I'm sorry I really hate 5400RPM drives after using 7200RPM and SSDs. As far as space goes, you look good. If you don't mind me asking, what the hell do you store with all that space?
>>
>>54453897
>no front airflow
>side window
How is airflow with this case? Are you getting good temps?
>>54453898
Pretty basic case.. 5/10. At least you got USB 3.0 port on front.
>>
>>54453981
Anime, movies, TV shows, music, books, some linux distros.

The 5400RPMs are for my primary media storage.

The 7200RPMs right now are mostly empty, about 2TB on the 4TB Toshiba, and I just got the 5TB about two weeks ago so its empty so far.
>>
>>54454003

There's airflow in the front, it comes from the crevices in the front and goes through a filter. Coming from a Corsair 500r I didn't notice and difference in temps, but I also wasn't really monitoring it to compare. My 4690k clocked to 4.6ghz stood under 70c under a stress test, so it's good enough for me.

currently 350D but am thinking about building my next build into my desk.

What are some recommended silent 120mm fans for around $15 USD?
>>
>>54454105
I figured you used those for your primary. I use my 3TB as my primary and my other 2x 1TBs as storage for books, music, backups.

>>54454158
not bad for 70c

>>54454280
not sure if you are looking for a specific brand but on amazon there are some corsair 120mm fans for about $11.
Corsair Air Series AF120 LED Quiet Edition
>>
>>54454581
>I figured you used those for your primary
It's media, no real need for anything faster than 5400RPM.

I use my SSD for working on projects, any projects that might be too big for the SSD I will use the 7200 RPMs for.
>>
>>54454624
If 5400RPM works for you, that is fine. I personally like to use 7200RPM. I've seen people who buy over 512GB SSD and use them to store their media I think thats stupid and a waste of money because to my understanding SSDs only have so many reads and writes to the drive. I've always used 256GB for my OS drives and never had a problem with space until my drives got full on movies and tv shows. I decided to buy a NAS and move them over. Currently have over 780 movies and 60 tv shows.

>>
>>54454756

>>54454777
looks like a nice case, if it fits your needs then thats fine. really here, its all based on preference. in my case, i needed more room for future upgrades and additional drive space so I went full size, i also find it more beneficial with room for custom water cooling and such if I should decide to go SLI. i almost went with 760T but after linus tips i didn't like how flimsy the case and window was.

Lian Li PC-A70B

I bought it for its clean, minimalist design and lack of led's/side window. Lots of room for an EATX build, tons of airflow and integrated fan filters too. Only downsides are the lack of modern features like tool less mounts, no cpu cutout on the motherboard tray, and the open design (plus lack of room behind the motherboard tray) makes attractive cable management pretty tough. Plus, the thing is almost comically large. I've had it for 8 years and it's served me well through several builds. Even when I eventually purchase a new case, I'll probably keep this wrapped up somewhere.
>>
>>54453898

Really digging it. Dust filters on all the intakes to keep everything cool and clean.
Honkin' big window to show off my color-coordinated components and pretty blinkenlights, Super easy to get into, basement for top-tier cable management, and captive thumbscrews on the right side panel so I don't have to worry about losing them fuckers.

H440.

Like it. Great cable management stuff, high quality construction, very sturdy. Nice and quiet. I like the thumbscrews that don't come all the way out and fall somewhere and disappear forever. Hidden PSU area is nice. LEDs built into the rear of the case and activated by a button so you can see whilst plugging things in is very neat.

HDD activity light is bright as fuck. I have to cover it at night. Airflow isn't that great but it cools decently. I have two 390x and a 6700k and it gets toasty. The top panel has sound deadening foam on it, but that results in the top exhaust ports being miniscule in addition to only running along one side and the rear of the case. Removing the foam or cutting holes in the top would likely greatly improve the performance of a radiator in the top. I take off the top panel and temps drop 15..... so yeah.

Front panel has air filters, psu intake on the bottom has a filter. They slide right out and are held in place with small magnets.

>>54455180
I've read a lot of reviews on it, thinking of doing an X99 build in it. Anything that you would tell someone building with that case for the first time that you wish you had known?

I'm using a 750D for the sake of modern airflow design, but I used to use this monster for my main desktop from 2009 till this month. Its still perfect for my cold storage NAS though.

Lian Li A71F, with 10x 3.5" drive bays, and up to 15 drives if you convert the 5x 5.25" bays, FULL aluminum chassis, with a physical key lock at the front to stop retards from turning it off, and its fucking beautiful. Brushed ionized black aluminium everything is just amazing.

Main issue is that I need to unscrew like literally 12 screws to get to the front fan filters, and the fact that its stupidly large, and stupidly heavy, even when nothing in it is steel. I still remember the mailman lugging this up my front door and I just looked at him like he was stupid.

Best part was I bought for $200 CAD with free shipping, shipped from BC to Ontario.

I'm gonna need a new case soon, probably gonna have a single GPU so I'm looking for a nice mid sized case with good cable management and an easily removable dust filters. I currently have a storm enforcer, which has great airflow but the dust filters are shit to clean and the cable management is kinda shitty.

Gets the job done. I really like how the dust filters are just laced with magnetic strips and still sits really tight, none of those foamy things I had previously which was a pain in the butt to clean.
Question about airflow though, should I have fans all blowing in 1 direction? Intake in front, HSF pulling air from front, exhaust pulling air from HSF?
>>
>>54455618
Jesus, what did you put in it?
>>
Be careful, this might turn into another general

>inb4 custom anime vinyls
>>
>>54455882
If that's the way your fan mounts are laid out, then yes. Generally speaking, all you really need to care about is that you maintain positive air pressure and that your HSF is pointed at the exhaust. Aside from that it's all basically fair game.
>>
>>54456049
Case can hold 2 front, 2 top, 1 back fans
I currently have 1 in front as my intake, 1 exhaust at the back and my hsf pointed to the exhaust.
I'll place once more intake on the top directly blowing into the HSF.
Thanks
>>
>>54456093
If it were me I'd slap two at the front, leave the exhaust and HSF alone, then call it a day.
