Are televisions just as good for replacing monitors?

>never had a television after living on my own, cbf
>now I want to just laze in bed while watching youtube
>these specs are just as good if not better than my 100quid asus 24 incher
>i can just game with my wireless keyboard and mouse and be comfy, and if i prefer a desk, i can just open the television and listen to memeshows while grinding in an rpg or someshit

The response time is 5ms, which is good enough for gaming.

Any particular disadvantage? outside of the fact that I can get a 24 inch 1440p monitor for the same price (which is too intense for my specs anyway and I still need fucking something to watch while on bed, and i aint spending an extra 100 for a tablet)/

I have a tv as main monitor on my parents house
and a tv as second monitor on my apartment
i prefer the latter, having a first normalized monitor is nice then you just drag your shit to your screen to watch
im hammered and cant type for shit
Ifs fine for just comfy gaming and monitor viewing. Not really for anything competitive due to latency issues.

refresh rate will suck and might ruin the experience for you

it did for me

That's grey to grey response time not input lag, that will be much much higher.

pretty nice actually, if you get a more modern big screen tv with a gaming mode. I got one sometime back from dell during a big sale, 32" 1080p tv for around $225 with a $125 rebate card, pretty sweet. only bad thing was it uses small little feet instead of a large pedestal, but otherwise it's been perfect.

just avoid older tvs, those will look really bad with ghosting.

the refresh rate might be saying 200+ but it is certainly not
