Why would anyone ever buy a tablet?
I have my computer and phone, and it can do everything an iPad would do for me. I don't see why anyone would need an iPad.
Not an iPad, but I got a cheap Android tablet for my car. It's a nice touchscreen console for most everything.
Why would anyone need a bike?
I have shoes and a car and that does everything a bike does. I don't see any reason to get a bicycle.

Yeah so I have a lot of cash money sitting in my wallet, and I've always been conservative with my money, but now I just want to be stupid for once like all the other people, and blow 250 bucks on an iPad mini.
I still have to justify to myself why I would need one.
My grandma cracked her ipad screen so gave it to me. It's pretty good for manga like the other anon said, but I prefer an android phone for browsing the web. Especially since ipads still don't support webms.
tablets are probably better for general computing purpose for normies, than a desktop or laptop. if all you do is surf the web, go on facebook, some email, etc (95% of normies do just that) then a tablet is the best option for you.
It's just a fashion accessory for homos and women.

That being said Tablet PCs are still pretty good. They're ultra portable and most have stylus input which is pretty cool.

Probably just a matter of preference. Android having a global cancel/go back button at the bottom of the screen is just too nice, so I can't stand using ipads since they don't have that.

Haha why? Keep in my that you don't upgrade tablets as often. I bought my Air 2 almost two years ago and I have absolutely zero reason to upgrade. Apple didn't even need to release a successor and just released a smaller version of the iPad Pro.
Spending around 500 bucks for 4-5 years of use doesn't seem like a bad investment. Also if you buy apple products, you could still get a decent chunk of money back, when you decide to sell it.

Nah, the first iPad is a mess. My mother's iPad 2 is still handling things fine.I use it from time to time when I'm over and I gotta admit that it's fairly usable.
I have an Android tablet laptop hybrid.
And a custom built desktop.

I have an old ipad from back in the day and can confirm that yes, it is completely useless right now
can't update to the newer operating systems which means that it can't install new apps, and straight up the old youtube app doesn't work and the browser doesn't support videos so there is no way to watch videos on the device, it's almost comical it's so bad right now
kinda thinking about getting a tablet but to be honest, I like taking notes in class on paper, I like reading books on paper, and tablets just end up being harder to use than laptops for everything else so I really can't find a reason to do it except for lightweight normie stuff as mentioned above
