Volta will be amazing but I don't think the bigchips hit the market until 2019. So the 1080Ti will give me at least some serious 4K performance similar to the small Voltas.

Unless Volta is a manufacturer process shrink again, you won't get the same big leap on performance as you will get with this cards.

They aren't going to release a card that is 4x better, when they could release in two stages of 2x.
