So now that Plasma's been dead for a while
Did it die because it was legitimately surpassed, or did it succumb to the burn in meme?
Too expensive to make and buy + run
Bad with sunlight
Hot and power inefficient
I have one in my Living room, it is fucking awesome! Quality is amazing, especially it being old as hell.
Plasma's are like CRT's.
Supposedly it couldn't do 4k at reasonable sizes because pixels were too big. Also they looked kinda bad in shops next to LCDs set to "torch mode" and no one wanted them.

>Too expensive to make and buy
Around 2012 I started seeing budget priced plasma from Panasonic for about 300 euros they looked really good for the price tag.

Truth
I've got an old 1080p model from 2009, and it runs like a champ. Sure I can see a little burn in from when I played a lot of vidya on it, so things like health bars and other pieces of HUD are forever imprinted in the corners, but those are only noticeable when true black is being displayed. I still love the thing.

Even old SD stuff looks great on Plasma
LG was pretty underrated when it came to plasma.
Philips too they got a lot of shit I remember which was quite funny people would say get Samsung man Philips is shit.
Irony being the Philips Plasma sets were Samsung re brands sold at a lower price.

Sadly I myself can confirm this as true when you see a Plasma next to a LCD set in demonstration mode it's nothing special.
But a Plasma & LCD in the living room there is no way in hell you are going to pick the LCD.
Most people just say oh the Plasma has better colors but in my opinion it's about how smooth everything moves across on Plasma.
LCD's feel like hack job shit now for me
