I need a new psu, or just some prettier cables.

effay as fuck
So I was watching JayzTwoCents's video about case flow and decided to try it myself with some lavender scented incense sticks.
Everything looks good except the Noctua NF-A14 140mm PWM in the front. (The one highest up, near the 5.25" drive bays). It sucks air from inside the case instead of sucking it from the outside.
I have the same Noctua fan in the back which works brilliantly. It sucks air from inside the case and blows it out.
is the Noctua NF-A14 140mm PWM fan only suited for exhaust? I have a bunch of computer fans stashed away in my closet and I'm gonna try and replace them with the problematic fan and see if they work better.
The problem persists through every amount of RPM, from the lowest to the highest.
You guys should try it aswell because it's interesting as fuck to visualize the air flow

What do you spend 18TB+ storage space on?
>>54428062
Anime, movies, tv, some music, games, etc. I just added the 5TB when I was down to ~1.5TB free, so i've got around 6-7TB free right now.
Should be good for the next 6-12 months.

Why hoard? Do you have 3rd world internet?
>>54428311
nope
>>54428152
If I had a spare $1,500 laying around (I do but I want to go on vacation this summer) I would think about doing a similar loop. But i'd need a new case, as well as everything else for the loop. It would be a lot of work.
Maybe next year.

is that case so you can hide it in your kitchen countertop?
>>54426647

>>54432741
yeah it's the main comment I get, but not worth getting a shittier motherboard just for aesthetics.
And for all the things that could be an issue, a bit of yellow on the motherboard is pretty low down on the list.
>>54427380
Nice windowed sidepanel. Nice that we can see your compon- cable management, ever heard of it?
>>54428607
Not bad, you should've spend more time matching colors, but overall clean.
>>54428675
Cute

Nothing changed and I think it won't for a while. This thing does everything I want it to. Could use a good cleaning though.
afternoon anons, i got a optiplex 990. i have plans to stick a 750 ti in it.
i got this thing yesterday. its a optiplex 990.

>>54436420
Perhaps in VR but not on any other gpu-related task. Update when you are comfortable with the cost and performance increase
>>54436420
Be smart and wait for AMD to announce or wait for after market cards not reference. I know waiting sucks but just do it.
>>54436420
For shitty, non optimized games yes.
dx12/vulkan will really help you out.
>>54437712
Why would you wait for anything from a company that has repeatedly proven that they can't be anything except second best (out of two) anymore?

Not seen many itx builds with nanos in despite that being the point of them, cute
>>54444059
this was a hand me down from a office buddy who was getting a new computer, paid by the office he works at of course. the other gpu was a ATI 6350 (it was so he could have four monitors. why he didn't get dual 295s is beyond me.
>>54444279
I have a 790 I got really cheap a while back and it came with a 6350 so that makes sense.
>>54444059
Nice man, really like z series, was after 600 but they're still quite expensive.
>>54444295
least the processors decent, its a i7 2600. i have plans to stick a 750 ti in it and see if it can play any games, i have a zotac model im looking at rn
>>54444059
>(pic is my z800)
I like how that generation of hp server/ws had a toolless design. You using dual X series cpus?
>>54426410
>550W
Now I feel silly getting a 750W psu.
>>54444381
A 5820k+a 980Ti only draws like 420w at full load. A quality 500-600w PSU is all 80% of people will ever need.
Only reason to get 600w+ is for SLI or dual CPU or similar weirdness.
>>54444417
Well, at least I'll have room for uprgrade, should I ever need it.
Though I probably won't.
>>54444319
I once threw a 750 into an i7 2600, It's ok.
>>54444330
Yes. Dual x5560
>>54444487
yea, but the psu says to not go over 256 wats and idk what the other stuff uses up.
>>54444850
get a new PSu that one's shit
>>54444904
probably the best option, there any good 80+gold ones for cheap?

this PSU good?
>>54445039
Yes. That'll be more than enough.
I'm thinking of getting an extender and just going out from the bottom of the GPU under the tube between the pump and the GPU. That way I can eliminate the weird loop on the left side. It would also make removing the radiator significantly easier. I'm also considering two QDC's to easily remove the GPU. Waiting for Broadwell-E, upgrading RAM soon, will probably change power supply's when I do. What else.... GTX 1080 looks good, but I'll probably wait until 1180 Ti's comes out to replace my 980.
I might move my HDD to a NAS and set up a few more Intel 730 SSD's inside the build and maybe make a RAID array, or just use them all as individual drives. I'm just bored already and want to upgrade it for no reason. Help me, /g/.
>>54446090
Why would you use a case that's too small for your needs and then have shitload of gear outside of it? What's the point?
>>54446730
>Shit load of gear outside of it.
There's nothing outside of it currently. Aside from the reservoir, which, doesn't really increase the foot print because of the cables required. As I said, I don't want to take the HDD out to keep everything local.
>>54432138
Hey >>54432722 is right, don't do that with your cables, you are making a coil
