I see that systemd is nsa cancer pretty much so what old distro version do i use thats free of this cancer?

Is there an old manjaro distro? an old ubuntu version before the amazon spyware and selling out?

looks like ubuntu 10.10 is a pretty good choice.

free of systemd or any amazonspyware, outdated and no updates but who needs them when its running fine and you can secure it?
>>
>>54413792
Install Gentoo.
I'm not joking. Gentoo uses openrc instead of systemd.
If you don't want Gentoo, arch can have systemd changed to openrc, but that isn't officialy supported, and it might cause you trouble, and you won't be able to get help.
>>
>>54413792
>what old distro version
Git gud and get Gentoo.
Anyway, many debian maintainers escaped the sinking boat and they soon will have ready a systemd-free distro.

If no, just use Lubuntu, is comfy.

yes but if gentoo uses openrc too isnt it the same buggy shit?

im not familiar with the init system in 10.10 ubuntu but it should be pretty stable, secure and easy to use but also customize?

the only stable distro i remember using was manjaro that just kept working...but im not falling for the systemd cancer and shilling.

so it seems ill just have to use ubuntu10.10 and secure it with some "peerblock" like firewall rules my self?

its pretty old so it should be just what people need? stable and easy...but could be secured by yourself?
>>

Im using the Manjaro one right now actually, pretty happy with it.

isnt lubuntu always based on the new ubuntu releases?

i mean if they base it on ubuntu and if the canonical sellouts have backdoored the new ubuntus....wont lubuntu have them as well?

for the other anons here, this is the usual "give a reason" tactic where they just keep making fun of you and deny/ignore solid logic like donkeys.

you dont need to prove or give a reason to anyone... the solid fact that systemd was developed by redhat which has ties with the NSA and spread to every distro suddenly with a lot of $$$ backing is enough to alarm you that its probably not safe at all.

any logical person would get an old version of a good distro or i guess like im downloading lubuntu now.

think about it... if a new system comes to town that has ties with the government and suddenly goes underneath every distro....it is the perfect place to hide code that would spy on everything... you gotta use a few braincells yourself.

dont bother replying or arguing with them, at the end of the day the important thing is to just make the right choice like all the smart people would do.

thanks for the help anons!

Aren't there distributions without systemd?

I'm fairly sure most GNU/Linux users want their system to work.
Some of them use their systems to work.
If you like to tinker and dislike systemd at the same time why not make your own?

I've been trying to resume much of it but there are quite a lot of flaws on systemd, plus we all know the other risks we face.

First, I can't stress enough how much systemd resembles the Borg, assimilation everything. This by itself is a liability because we can't cope, small developers can't cope, with auditing all the code.

The unix philosophy gave us a clear understanding that if one tool fails we at least have others. But not with this cancer.

The development model is clearly in favor of big businesses, which only they can maintain and possibly create an scenario of "embrace, extend, extinguish" even among the libre community itself!
>>
>>54414520
>>here are several pages of verified facts defending a position
i've read that "debunking common myths" blog.

It doesn't really point out anything wrong with systemd but just addresses common myths associated with it.
It doesn't say anywhere "systemd is bad" or "systemd is good"
So really, this article doesn't really prove any of your points.

Stop being so crazy about it anon.
It's just software. Don't like it, don't use it.
>>

fuck this shilling is some smooth shit.

"you cant even use linux without systemd guysee"

for the rest of you actual people here, just use ubuntu 10.10 if you want something that is easy to use but you can still tinker it, you can secure and it wont fucking crash.

remember the key is modesty...since cancer is infecting everything...you just want something that was working good and stable, as the kernel was, so just use ubuntu 10.10

you dont need to be "up to date" with the botnet.

ask yourself, are the new versions really that "Fast" or bug free?
