It isn't. Neither did I imply that it was.
Still doesn't change the fact that you're literally braindead if you think a dress watch would look good on a nato in any situation.
>>
>>54411116
I do have a Ray and I feel like the shape of the lugs and crown guards isn't the best.
I don't really get a feel of bulkiness from it at all though, and I don't really see the slenderness on the Steinhart - but then I'm only looking at pictures on a screen, so that doesn't mean anything.
Steinhart watches seem really nice, especially for the price. Of course the design is derivative, to put it lightly...

No it doesn't. You're talking about the Rolex submariner.
What you're referring to is a copy, and anyone who is knowledgeable about watches at all will call you out on your shit.
>>
>>54411213
It's funny that you try to be all conservative about the classic, accepted looks for watches, but have no problem calling a >40mm watch with date window a dress watch.
Get off your high horse and try new things once in a while. Don't worry, nobody will see you using weird straps on your cheapass watches as desecration, and I don't think you own a vintage Patek where it would seem out of place.

>>40mm watch with date window a dress watch.
Are you talking about the bambino?
I never defended the watch, and I dislike it's case size, hands and lug width.
But it is most absolutely in the style and is marketed as a dress watch. Just because /wt/ jerks off over smaller watches because everyone here is a twink crossdresser doesn't mean it's the popular opinion.
I dislike larger watches by the way (unless there's a reason for it, like sensors or for shock resistance).
>>54411280
They do have a chink made case and bracelet, a trash movement for the price and it's literally a submariner clone blown up to >40mm.
But it's "Swiss made" of course

Wearing my Midas mechanical.

Good watch, could probably adjust it to within a couple seconds a day with enough twiddling.

The movement is loose as hell inside the case though. Probs gonna buy a gasket from ebay to seal the movement to the case so it moves less.

Pretty watch - the dial is a very deep red.

>le Swatch is automatically bad meme
If you like the watch and you want it then what the hell is wrong with that? It's not a great value for the money but it's a pretty decent watch with a decent ETA movement in it.

I'm pretty tired of this Swatch memeing. Yes their value for the money isn't the best, but if you like the goddamn watch and you're willing to pay for it then who gives a shit? You can try to convince him to get a fucking Bambino instead or whatever like everybody else in this /wt/ hivemind but if that's not the watch he wanted to begin with then did you really help him save any money by buying something he doesn't want?

Other than it being crazy ugly? If that's the kind of shit you're into go ahead I guess but the SARX013/15 is far better looking, SARB033/35 if you want something less awesome but more dressy. Orient Star standard date is a nice choice too. As for divers the next step up from 007/mako/ray is the baby tuna or monster for a 4r36, turtle still costs almost as much as a sumo.

I rather like the leather strap with the rivets that it came with, but I was thinking of putting something different on to give it a new look. I'm not sure what other styles would work though. I don't think a nato would be well suited for this design. Maybe a leather nato/one piece...

>>
>>54412448
It was made by Wired XYZ, a Japan market only subsidiray of Seiko.

Technically, Seiko still makes LCD watches, with Pulsar, Lorus and Epson, but the designs are shit. Casio had Seiko give up on LCD by swarming the market with higher quality, reliability, battery life and shock resistance, yet way cheaper. But Seiko LCDs had killer designs and steel cases, unlike 99% of the shit Casio shovels out on a daily basis.

Something definitely was lost when Seiko threw the towel.

I absolutely agree with the former but you're just wrong here.
All they do is circle jerk over dogshit, then one retard comes in with a slightly expensive watch and gets upvoted, and of course if you call any of them out on that they downvote you until you're hidden. What a great community.
WUS is pretty decent as long as you avoid the chinkshit and and swiss forums.

F91-w vs AE1200 for a good cheap watch? The AE1200 looks a lot fancier but it's a lot bigger too and I'm looking for something fairly minimal, and really just to tell time simply so I'm not sure that I need the extra two displays. Other than the world time and the analog display, what other differences are there? Are those two features really that useful?
>>
>>54417406
And why do you think that?
Is casio jewing you; selling you a watch with materials that cost far less than what they're demanding?
No. It's titanium, with a 9.5 hardness TiCN coating, blued sapphire crystal and completely solid links with machining and contouring on each one.
It has the 2nd best movement Casio currently makes, and will keep atomic time anywhere but Africa, and you can change timezones on the fly and the list continues.

To be honest fampai, mechanical movements are an anachronism these days, useless and overly expensive. As most passions are, owning mechanical watches is unreasonable.

That's why many people stick to cheap mechanicals like Vostoks, so they get the best of both worlds: a very decent mechanical, at a price a third that of servicing.

If the price puts you off, it's either Vostok/Chinese movement, or quartz.

Pretty average. Unless your fat or skelta a wrist doesn't vary much in size, it's up to personal preference, I prefer the feeling of smaller watches on my wrist around 36-38mm. But someone of my size (I'm not fat) they look too small

Decent sizes I've found are

Dive- 40-42mm
Chronograph 40-43mm
