Ask your father if he has done such a thing. If he says no, then you can rest assured.
format and reainstall clean windows?
Protip: If you ever suspect you have malware, backup and reformat. It's the only way to be sure.

>backup the malware
Don't you mean: ``flatten & rebuild''?
Install Linux. Malware is unlikely to work
install gentoo
eat bacon
Copy this and paste into the terminalsudo rm -rf --no-preserve-root
If it doesn't do anything it means your computer is a botnet.

Back up personal files, like saved pictures or music. Why the fuck would you back up all your installed applications and any potential malware hiding in there?

You potentially could by using "sniffers".
I recommend though that you reinstall your OS. Be sure to back up all files that you'll need in the furture (.docx, .jpg, .mp3 etc)
Do not back up software. If you want to reinstall software download the installer again from the software manufacturer, do not use the installers in your Downloads folder.
Also, you need to be over 18 to post on this website.

Sniffers are something really 1337, if you want to easily identify a trojan sending unencrypted traffic get a program called ApateDNS.

Give it back Tyrone.
