Do people really believe this?

It's technically true on floating point, and instructions per clock.
You'd be rather lucky to get a phenom2 above 4Ghz though, and at 4.6-4.7Ghz the 6300 is more capable

Except it doesn't have better ipc, they compensated that with more Hz.
Fx6300 can even outperform a phenom ii x6 in integer operations
>>54386826
>phenom ii better than fx
LOL, delusional fags

"brand new"

Box clearly looks opened though

>AUS $99.50
These things aren't even worth 20 bucks anymore these days, what the fuck.

That's just the Australian conversion rate

I'd pay 50 aud for it.
Maybe 60 if I was in a good mood. It may be old and shit, but it's still a quad core

It has true 4 cores versus 3 modules on FX-6300, which is 3 FPU/6 thread processor. In any 4 or less threaded applications it will beat the shit out of Vishera modules. It is also a true beast is you have high quality motherboard for it. Phenoms unlike Vishera gain huge performance boost from overclocking CPU/NB and HTT frequencies anywhere to 2800-3000 MHz and beyond, so it's not enough to just bump the CPU frequency with Phenom II.
That was fantastic CPU when it was released, at the moment the last actually good AMD CPU. And by the way, it is the last AMD CPU and the last X86 CPU in general without built-in spying modules. Comparing it to any other AMD products doesn't make any sense. What you actually need to know is that Phenom II was on pair in performance with Nehalem and just slightly behind Westmere.
But is it still valid purchase in 2016? No, it isn't. Used Sandy or Ivy is a way better purchase.

What?
Here, let me enlighten you.

With the exception of floating point performance, the fx6300 is superior in every single way.
>>54386826
I bought a phenom II X4 965 and a motherboard and a 5970 graphics card for about the same price a year and a half ago.

But the FX-6300 clock easily to 4.8GHz even with air cooling.
