Sup /g/! Been a Debian user for a while now,parents have decided to get rid of xp at last and I was wondering what options do I have for a lightweight distro, works well on old hardware and has user friendly UI! So suggestions?

Ubuntu mate.

It runs smooth on my atom d2500 dual core. I imagine it'll run smooth on anything dual core, or one of the later single cores.
