>>
>>54374892
Still not comparable to the noctuas in performance there though.

Normal Noctua's get 2.08mm h20, the Fractal get 1.94mm h20

Then if we step up to the industrial Noctuas the 2000RPM version gets 4.18mm h20 and the 3000RPM gets 10.52mm h20.

It's not that the fractal are bad, but for a radiator fan there are better options.

Plus the Noctuas come with a 6 year warranty. vs 1 year for the fractal.

>>54374491
Your tube routing is janky.

Go from reservoir to pump, and then go from the closest component to the next in a loop. No need to separate the GPU and CPU with a radiator. It'll still cool both efficiently.
>>
>>54374491
I think you'll need to remove the 5.25" caddy to fit a 420mm rad. I have a 280mm with 2x140mm in the 750D case.

But new one isnt that different
>>
>>54375530
I saw it is possible but I read that a small 420 could fit. I'm unsure about my HDD caddies, one could fit but not both. Maybe I'll just get a 18TB for my data.
>>
>>54375350
Not sure, what kind of parts does it have?
Also, /guts/ may not be the best thread to discuss this on.
>>
>>54375566
It would honestly depend on the width of the rad and the fans. If you aren't using the top 2 5.25" bays the top of the caddie is open, so if the rad fits in between it SHOULD be okay. It'll be a pain in the ass to get in there though.

And you should be able to get a 3.5" caddie next to the PSU, then pump where the other 3.5" caddie would go, radiator next to that in the front.
>>
>>54375635
I could completely remove the 5.25", I only have one drive and will buy an external one then.

Currently I only have one GPU, but I'm not sure if I will need 2 1080Tis when they release. My sound card also takes some space. This setup should be overkill but it will cool amazingly without those shitty AIOs.

Pic related. My main rig. Got a dual core A64 x2 CPU but no board to stick it in and prices are quite high for me.

Since I live in the Easter Europe (and worse,in Romania...yes,I really hate my country) a i3 or i5 would cost a damn fortune. Not to mention UEFI sucks balls.

>Otherwise Q6600 is best.

OK, not sure about that, here in Germany you get 6600s from 10 €, C2D mostly 5-7 €, but I sometimes buy them in bulk and pay 0,50 € per 6850.

I can't imagine that you cannot find a board. A shitty board like this one in my second PC should cost below 5 €. It doesn't even have AHCI. I run a Phenom II 940 on it, which I got for 20 €, it doesn't get recognized but works (Shows "AMD CPU unknown" in task manager). This + 4 GB DDR2-800 makes a decent office / shitposting machine.
>>
>>54376281

>I can't imagine that you cannot find a board.
I've searched a lot and couldn't find any. OLX.ro has some, but they're pretty expensive not to mention there's possibility for them to be duds.
The only things I need for the board to have are DDR2 slots and AM2+ support.

I buy the cheapest hardware in a German forum, but you can find a lot on Ebay too. Search for whole Europe, except for UK the shipping should be OK.

I would also get a least a Phenom II. For example this one: http://www.ebay.de/itm/PC-Fujitsu-Esprimo-P5645-AMD-945-Phenom-II-X4-4x3000-MHz-generaluberholt-/322092931992?hash=item4afe3c1b98:g:z1cAAOSwJblW~jGy
It doesn not ship outside GER but its a bit overpriced.
Or this one, suitable for light gayming and 2 TB HDD: http://www.ebay.de/itm/PC-AMD-Phenom-II-X4-945-QUAD-3GHZ-2TB-HDD-4GB-RAM-ATI-HD4850-WIN7-/381618694886?hash=item58da3f2ae6:g:Np8AAOSwJb9Wrkf2

Feel free to ask them and make offers, especially when they didn't sell their shit for weeks. A Phenom II DDR3 build is better than modern FX APU shit, if you only use desktop applications you can leave RAM and a powerful dGPU or trade it for a SSD.
>>
>>54376399
Speaking of x2's I ran a 6000+ with an AC 7 pro

>>
>>54376773
Thanks, but a quad core is way too much for me.

I don't know why people push this idea that a quad core is a must,as I've done stuff easy for years on a dual core. The mobo died due to a cheap PSU (Delux).
>>
>>54377034
you have no idea what you're missing because you've never had it.

Dont worry you're probably better not knowing. Its cheaper.
>>
>>54377052
I used a Phenom II X4 960T and a Pentium E2160 (so a quad and a dual core) and haven't noticed any difference. In fact, both machines performed the same.
>>
>>54377087
>still using HDDs.

one day you'll move past 2007. One day.
>>
>>54377116
1TB HDD (on the Pentium E2160) doesn't sound like 2007...
Motherboards used were ASRock 870 Extreme3 R2.0 for AMD and Gigabyte P35-DS3 for the Pentium E2160.
>>
>>54377151
Sure does to me...

I've been using an SSD for a boot drive since 2009.
>>
I want a decent and silent psu, looking at the ones in the 50 euro range, like be quiet system power 8. Anyone know how quiet actually it is? How are be quiet psu generally?
>>
>>54377209
Sorry,but I haven't noticed any difference.

The AMD had 7 Ultimate and the Intel machine had 7 and Xubuntu in dual boot.
>>
>>54377034
If youre talking about a Core i3 then yes. The i3 has similar performance on 2 cores as the Phenom on 4. But Athlon X2's are too slow, they'll struggle when you convert MP3s or download anything in the background while browsing.
>>54377087
What did you do? I worked in a shitty office 2 years ago where they had those Pentiums on XP PCs, this was shitty as hell.
>>54377370
Be Quiet is good, except the one I have with coil whine. Always search for active PFC when you're looking for cheap PSUs.
>>
>>54377540
>they'll struggle when you convert MP3s or download anything in the background while browsing.
What the fuck? I had a X2 machine before the PSU gave up,with 3GB of RAM,7 x64 and a 1TB SATA HDD (which I still use) and none of this happened, but maybe because I do MP3 conversion online.
>What did you do?
Used them each at a time. None was slow, and the E2160 had a bit weaker parts than the 960T machine. (GT210 vs HD6800 for example)
>>
>>54377657
>Online conversion
Means it doesn't demand your CPU power
Its OK to use shitty Pentiums but not under Windows, this is against humans rights
>>
>>54377683
>Its OK to use shitty Pentiums but not under Windows
I've used a Pentium 133 with XP (it was my first self-built machine - I didn't know how to assemble computers until 4 years ago) and it worked flawlessly. So why is that? Yes,the machine booted, and even ran CHKDSK.
>>
