Well I know the 8 socket 18 core per socket from Fujitsu starts around $160,000, I am sure the 10 core CPU version costs a decent bit less, but I wouldn't be shocked by $100,000 or more depending on support, RAM, NICs, and HDD/SSD selection.

I work for an organization with 30,000 active users, and about 80% of our servers run Linux/Solaris. We have 4 RHEL Samba servers, 2x as a load balanced domain controller, 2x load balanced taking care of our 20TB share. We also have 4 load balanced RHEL LDAP servers. We do have a single Windows AD policy server thrown in the mix, though.
Mail used to run on Linux, but has since been migrated to Office365.

>>54380576
>any 4core Intel CPU out of the water
uhh...
Maybe in something SUPER highly threaded.
But it would be a rare program, and probably only a synthetic benchmark would consistently show the AMD beating a current intel i5.
>>54380632
Go google some benchmarks with single core performance against i5's
It is superb in multithreading against Intel, that was its selling point back in 2011, but it's not a bad CPU at all.
Looking how Quad cores are still costing more then the old FX from 2011 what's brand new right now around 90eur.
Just checking some benchmarks shows that the single core performance against a HT'd 8core i5 is same and multi core just barely lower score (12%).
>>54380762
With both CPUs at stock, an i5-6600 and an FX-6300, the i5-6600 is almost double the single core performance in Cinebench 10
Are you high or are you just cherry picking benchmarks that make your AMD look better?
