I want a seedbox but I would prefer to just pay for a generic linux server and set one up myself.
Are there any tips I need to know for this like what country to get a server in for things like torrenting? Does it even matter? What server host would you guys recommend? I wanna do this right.
Bump

If you dont seed public torrents the country shouldnt matter. I personaly use a dedicated server from kimsufi (OVH) 500gb hdd for 6 euro/ 7 dollar per month. the server is in france btw. I wouldnt choose a server to far away from your home connection or the speed would decline.
I run a pi 3 with a 1tb drive. Qbitorrent web ui and streaming in home like it was on my pc all along. Dont really need it elsewhere just wanted to seed muh private trackers for cheap

I went with xirvik. They have the option to have your own Linux setup.
Most generic vp servers don't allow torrenting copyrighted shit

+1 for kimsufi
a lot of other people use them as seedboxes as well -- I don't think internal transfers count towards your bandwidth. sure the speed seems "low" but it's not.
also there is a script to install all that shit (rtorrent/rutorrent) if you are a retard like me.

Kimsufi's traffic is completely unlimited since 2 years.
You also get a decently stable asynchronous 100/100Mbit connection inside and outside of OVH's network.
I've been using 25TB/month in upload alone on my Kimsufi box in the past.
