I just got my first iem! I previously fell in love with Shure's SE115 years ago. Those lasted like five years. These last few years, I swear I've been through like ten samsung earbuds, countless ones from Walmart... I said Fuck it. Got the 846s.. I was wondering if there's audiophiles or even casual listeners that can give me advice on these things. Should I get the moon audio cables as an upgrade? Did I make a stupid purchase, are there better iems that I should have gotten instead?

Those are meme tier, could have saved 600 by buying the 535s.

As far as iems go 535 are the best you can get before you start getting diminishing returns for your investment. Those are 846s are better, but not worth the extra $ spent.

Yeah, definitely upgrade the cables. They'll open up the soundstage and make everything that much better.

>>54353840
no, cables are overrated. don't do cable upgrades. it's placebo.

SE535 owner here, can definitely agree

hey why do they call them 535s?

because you'll spend $535 on them.

ayyyy

I recognize that. I know it's almost double and the value certainly wouldn't be double. I just wanted something almost futureproof. The 535s would've been insane for my first listening experience. I just heard about the 846s having a more refined bass and the same with high frequencies...

Literally Ety MK5 sound better than those muffled shits with ginormous fat fit. SE535 from Shure would've been better too but it's way too dark for my tastes and has audibly poor extension. At least those are comfortable and sell of under half of what the SE846s do.

>Should I get the moon audio cables as an upgrade?
Cables aren't a fucking upgrade you dip.

I had se210 and currently have custome molded ones and se454 or something.

I had many differenct cables, but wouldn't consider them an audible upgrade. I would upgrade for comfort - if you find the stock cable to long/thick. I'm getting some linum cables soon.
