Hey /g/, I'm looking for an SSD.
1.8"
128+GB
<$200
Also, SSD general because I don't see a thread in the catalog. Which SSD do you use?

get an mSATA drive and an adapter
>>54338670
Looking to replace my laptop's HDD.
>>54338569
Why does it have to be 1.8"?

Cheapest I can find on PC part picker.
>>54339333
Because that's the size that fits into my laptop.

That's the one I found on Amazon, too. Is it any good? I have never had/bought an SSD before and I don't have money to waste so I want to buy something good that will last a couple of years.

Why bother buying a drive you'll likely never need again? Your next computer will probably be able to accept an mSATA drive, just get one and an mSATA to 1.8" SATA adapter

Both for $115 and fits into 1.8". Decent deal?

mSATA is bigger than a 1.8" drive.
Like almost twice as long.
>>54338569
SD Card+adapter, you can get them for both 1.8" IDE and SATA drives.

>mSATA is bigger than a 1.8" drive
See >>54339639
That's an mSATA SSD in a 1.8" SATA slot via adapter.
>>54340605
No, that's a HALF SIZE mSATA ssd.
Half size variants are universally shit or Intel cache drives.
The one posted is a dodgy chink ssd that won't last more than a few weeks and likely isn't anywhere near the advertised size (as is standard for cheap china shit)
OP, stick with the SD card solution unless you want to risk it, not my money to waste.

>mSATA is bigger than a 1.8" drive
You're a fucking moron, that's a full size mSATA SSD. Are you thinking of m.2?
>The one posted is a dodgy chink ssd
Makes sense given I ordered it from China.
>won't last more than a few weeks
It's been a few months.
>isn't anywhere near the advertised size
It's a legitimate 120GB drive.

Is this a half-size, too?

>SD card solution
It's going to be the only hard drive in my laptop. Can an SD card handle it?
