Seriously, how is every motherboard still come with ancient outdated ports?

What
>>54336941
Supply and demand, if there was no demand there would be no supply, you don't have to buy it.
>>54336941
>every motherboard
what year are you in?
>>54336941
only the mobos for extreme poorfags still come with this connector
i work at a pc component store and i can confirm it
some am3+ and lga 1155 from gigabyte and ecs still have those port
have yet to find one on an lga 1150 and 1151 though
>>54336941
Why does a connector need 8 fucking GND pins? Distributing current?
>>54336941
Haven't seen a mobo with this shit connector since they had USB 2.0 only.
>>54336941
There are industrial devices that use those.
Also, it's easier to control them by software.
What is parallel even used for anymore, anyway? Old ass printers?
I'd dig two serial ports, but no need whatsoever for parallel
>buy new supermicro board
>PCI slot included
>PCI
Whats a good mobo that doesn't have one?
Backward compatibility.
>>54336941
Most motherboards don't./
>b-but some do and it's so old waah
Some people still use the port. Suck it up and deal with it. Don't like it? Get a board that doesn't have it, there are plenty.
>>54339585
>no need whatsoever for parallel
Because I need to use all that old tech in my closet somehow.
>>54339591
>one PCI, one PCIx16 and one PCIx4
Well, you knew what you were getting when you chose to buy this useless piece of shit.
>>54339804
Just get a $10 USB knockoff.
>>54339910
>Just get a $10 USB knockoff.
Where's the fun in that?
>get a $10 USB knockoff.
sadly those aren't true bidirectional ports. pissed the hell off when my project couldn't read inputs from the usb parallel port when it was working fine on a regular parallel port.

He was saying to get a USB SNES controller
>>54339517
Why does a metal box containing fuck loads of high frequency switching require good grounding?
WTF happened to /g/?
>>54339989
How easy are those to find in bongobongoland?
>>54339804
Just get a dirt cheap mcu with usb support.
>>54340035
Or I use a parallel port.
>>54340017
It's almost as if you don't have an Internet connection with a plethora of shopping site at your disposal.
>>54340017
I literally found them in one of these $1 or more stores for 10 bucks. They also have them at pawn shops, Amazon, and... fuck, just google it.
>>54340095
>>54340046
>live in bongobongoland
>attempt to import goods from internet
>no roads around here
>fml
How is a shitload of pins is "good grounding"?
Also I'm pretty sure that even USB 1.0 has stricter timing and larger power requirements than parallel port, still it only has one GND.
>>54340252
But how many pins/wires?
