There are people running their entire business on a Windows 10 tablet that costs less than the price of a new iPhone screen repair.
Why did /g/ turn into /b/ with gadgets?
Just a pack of shitposting faggots disconnected from reality.
I have an iPhone 6s+, A 2015 Macbook, and an Apple Watch. I'm literally everything that this board hates as I buy products based on aesthetics rather than functionality as long as they do the bare essentials. Get fucked, kids.

OP you are suppose to post thinkpad

Why does your screen look like someone peed on it?
>>54332933
NO. THINKPADS ARE EXPENSIVE TO MAINTAIN LONG TERM SINCE SPARE PARTS ARE BECOMING FUCKING EXPENSIVE AND THEIR BATTERY LIFE AND PORTABILITY IS SHIT COMPARED TO A CHEAPER SURFACE PRO 1/2 TABLET.
THEY ARE NO LONGER PRACTICAL FOR EVERYDAY USE.
THERE, I SAID IT.

Hey, I have those speakers. They're pretty good for the price. I got them hooked up to my PS3 to watch blu-rays.
>>54332959
Bluepill me on Windows tablets. I've been thinking of getting one but the prospect of trying to do the usual desktop shit with a touchpad turns me off. Is plugging it into an external and using it as a big input device really worth it?
>>54332869
Windows is irrelevant for programming
>>54333033
Just use a bluetooth mouse
>>54333067
>>54333096
I'll probably just get the tablet and sell if it if I can't find a good use for it.
>>54333067
>Windows is irrelevant for programming
Tell that to everyone making games and architects designing buildings or engineers building technology. Enjoy living in your sheltered "Web programming = the whole world of programming" bubble
>>54333067
Yup, game dev studios program in linux when they optimise for DirectX, you heard it here on /g/ for the first time.
>>54333033
The trackpad is identical to a Mac trackpad.
Microsoft and Apple are in a cross-licensing agreement so they steal each others shit all the time. Like the Surface being the only other computer that has magnetic charging ports.
>>54333133
Since when is cad work fucking programming.
>>54332869
Last time I checked, Apple gets shit on here regularly.

Where can I get a Surface for $99?
Love my Surface 3 btw, works so damn good as a drawing tablet. I honestly prefer it a lot more over the Wacom powered Surface Pro 1 I had before.

Craigslist/ebay etc

Macfags are really ignorant 99% of the time
Fuck windows
Fuck software developers not supporting linux
Fuck hardware developers not supporting linux
Literally the only reason to have a dual boot system with windows for me is nvidia-optimus and cad-software. Everything else works better and is easier on linux.
>>54334579
Not even Linus' wife and daughters use Linux
>>54334569
don't own a mac, never will. Been on a Satellite A500 for the past 6 years

the fuck you on about, either way even the Intuos Small (non-Pro) has 1024 and that's the most basic drawing tablet you can get
>>54334738
>oppression inensifies
>>54333022
What speakers senpai. I'm rocking JBL pebbles but I'm getting what I paid for.
>>54334486
Wacom Penabled is 256 levels as well, interpolated to 1024 and later 2048. Only their Cintiqs are truly 2048 levels.
Most drawing software apply smoothing of pressure, so the Wacom 'feel' 1024/2048 levels are marketing gimmicks.
>>54335964
Wacom Intuos Draw, starter model.
Also pressure smoothing is less effective on large brush sizes, though most people don't need any more than 1024 unless your using 1000px brushes
>>54336100
Yeah, I keep mine below 50 most of the time. I draw like I do traditionally, that's why I like the pen on screen experience and the Surface N-Trig provides perfect calibration everywhere.
Never really liked these smaller starter Wacoms, they just sat as dust collectors.

...
programming != engineers ineptly playing with shitty domain specific scripting languages
i saw an engineer post a "10 coding errors to avoid when doing matlab" the other day. it literally had shit like "use whitespace to indent your code" and "don't use the matlab function names for variable names". i didn't know whether to laugh or to cry.
>>54332959
Sweet jesus look at all that functionality
>>54333011
So you went from a machine which you can fix, to one that's an utter brick once a component fails?
