I have no debts or dependants, and my income allows me to spend such amounts without causing me financial problems. I have a sufficient checking account buffer and emergency fund already.
I could certainly get a €200 phone, and put €300 into a savings account instead. After five years, it would have turned into €315.18. Yay.
