The only real potential benefit Zen is going to have is price, if they can match Intel's haswell-era performance for significantly cheaper they can make themselves the better option, but if you're hoping they'll beat out Intel in performance it's not going to happen, so it's up to if you wanna just get something now or wait and possibly spend a little less.

amd is ready to launch a game changer at the very least in how cpus are built (going from 4 core mainstream to 8 core) along with an absolutely massive die shrink on the gpu side as well bringing very high performance down to a pittance.
id honestly hold out till we know more about zen, by them we will have gpu knowledge too, so we can make a better decision.
