Why do we consider Linux to be good when this shit goes on?

Disgusting.

Thumbnails work fine in icon view here. I'm using MATE.
Don't know why you would want thumbnails in list view.

"File picker" lol

Picture previews are useful. So are image previews of a video. Playing the video back within the icon is a gimmick.

So if it's a different implementation with the same functionality, it gets disqualified?

You can set key for that. I haven't though.

If you need to seek, you do it with a full blown video player.

We have had music previews since like Windows ME, probably earlier.

Well, I've read the thread up to this point and still don't have a working definition of what a "file picker" is. Never heard the term before, either.

Given the cancerous responses ITT, I'm guessing it has nothing to do with anything useful. Especially since I've managed to use computers for over 30 years now without knowing whatever this mysterious thing is.

Occam's Razor suggests that OP is pretty fucking retarded and doesn't know how to use a computer effectively. I hope you get better some day, OP. Good luck.

It bothers me too

So like, what is it exactly, a gtk thing? And qt just also is missing this feature? It's not browser-specific, right? How hard could it be to add that?

And a related question, can you like, set your file picker to your own program somehow, like a regular FM?
>>
>>54321603
qt's file picker is just as shit. KDE overrides it because it's not SHITNOME
>>
